If your #kindergarten class enjoyed the Dice Addition Game that we posted about earlier this week, you should putting blocks and dice out during free play to see what creations are made! Have a look → https://t.co/YhXYvYg5oR 🎲🧱 #playbasedlearning

A MathUp sample inquiry in action! How do we sort? "Because they go on the road!" "Because they are all blocks!" Rich opportunities for discussion, student voice (and documentation)! @MmeMicheline @StMichaelOCSB @P_Luxton @OttCatholicSB #ocsbMath #ocsb #ocsbKindergarten

There are so many games you can play with just a pair of dice. Dice Addition Game can be a quick an easy way to add some numeracy in your transitions or #kindergarten daily practice. Check it out here: https://t.co/TKSuKhbyOo 🎲🎲 #earlymath #playbased

Wow - what a great experiment! Thanks for sharing! ❄️

Do you discuss Groundhog Day in your #kindergarten classroom? It's coming up so now is a great time to make some class predictions and talk about the change of seasons. What kinds of activities are you doing? ❄️🌱 #groundhogday #playbasedlearning

Happy Lunar New Year! May the year of the snake bring you happiness, health, and good fortune. 🧧✨🐍

[Ms.Lisa (she/her/elle) @MsLisa4321]

K1 & K2 began learning about graphs. They looked at retrieving info. & inputting into a graph so it’s organized and easier to read. Afterwards, they explored which object occurred the most and least. 📊

Happy Lunar New Year! 🏮 What are you doing in your classrooms today to celebrate? #playbasedlearning

[Ms.Lisa (she/her/elle) @MsLisa4321]

K1 & K2 love exploring with the Ozobots!
First, they were asked to create simple line mazes & then they were challenged to include shapes into their designs. The more they experimented, the more their ideas evolved✨

Another big shipment, and we turned styrofoam into icy bergs for our winter sensory bin! My young audience called it “beautiful” as they eagerly waited to dove in, ready to create new stories with their imagination & senses! ♻️♥️🤩 #ocsbKindergarten @StAnneOCSB

@BartlettBritt1 Wow! A material with so many pasta-bilities!

[Play Learning Lab @playlearninglab]

We've seen pasta necklaces in #kindergarten but we've never seen pasta patterns! Thanks for sharing 🍝 #playbasedlearning #earlymath

[Hana Sketchbook @BartlettBritt1]

Pasta Patterns ✨
We used various pasta shapes to create our pattern strips. How many different kinds of patterns can you create?
Math tools can be anything 🩷

"Does the Shoe Fit?" is an engaging and hands-on way to get students involved and introduce measurement in #kindergarten. Check it out here: https://t.co/M82L3rDQ7x 👟📏 #playbasedlearning #earlymath

[Play Learning Lab @playlearninglab]

Who said blocks are just for building?! If you have colourful cubes in your classroom, then check out this example of how your #kindergarten students can use them to create beautiful pictures: https://t.co/c7zIy5Feas #kindergartenart #playbasedlearning

[Play Learning Lab @playlearninglab]

Looking for more ways to encourage art exploration during free play? Put out some old magazines with scissors and glue to see what collages your students create! ✂️🖼️ https://t.co/Ty42vYZAVT

❄️❄️ Snowball Roll Relays during this snowy week in #PhysEd !

[Mme. Vanneste @mmevanneste]

Bonne année! It was wonderful to be back together today. We made New Year's crowns and Epiphany stars. We explored a wintery sensory bin with "flocons de neige" and made "bonshommes de neige" with losse parts on the light table. @StVeronicaOCSB #ocsbKinder #LearningThroughPlay

[Hana Sketchbook @BartlettBritt1]

Ringing in the new year with a refresh on our term 1 concepts & skills. 🎉
Today we used Froot Loops to practice colours, sorting, counting, and number recognition…and gluing skills too!

Happy 2025! As your class gets back into routine, encourage your students to think about 2025 'resolutions' for home and school. Creating a writing centre that is all about goals could get students writing, drawing, & talking about their ideas 📝🖼️https://t.co/9CnVecjt22
