@itsDuaneTV@gangstaGURRY This is not racist at all and is a very honest depiction of the reaction of a 10 year old boy having an unfamiliar meal with and unfamiliar relative. I believe the meal is meant to symbolize the unusual but acceptable. The aunt is the sushi
@Chillcatser@Post_Thirty I feel like the difference is that England still has a monarchy to absorb and deflect the worst of the people's distain. In France they already did away with them so their fury is that much more evident.
@tafphorisms I haven't paid attention to Lindsay Ellis since she spiralled after an anti-asian controversy? She's been out of touch for years now, and constantly displaying her pricey escapism. I honestly thought she moved to a pay platform after the controversy as well.
@aionaktaion@tafphorisms Their obviously out of the demographic as well. Many enthusiasts mask their enthusiasm as critique when they aren't the target demographic.
What I love about these right wing accounts is that they don’t give a fuck how many students don’t have ability to learn in a proper school, they don’t care how they can’t afford to live but they really really fucking care if some luxury $45,000 a bag store gets looted. Truly the worst pieces of shit
I lived in Paris for a year in 1999.
Other than beautiful architecture (which they only preserved by capitulating to the Nazis), good coffee, baguettes, and banana Nutella crêpes from street vendors…
It was a powder cake when I lived there nearly 30 years ago.
I lived on Boulevard Saint-Michel in the 5th arrondissement (not where the picture was taken).
There were protests every Saturday. Real protest, not this rioting and looting.
There were arrondissements that you absolutely avoided because they were no go zones.
The destruction of France has been decades in the making.
@Rebelb410pm@streetwize Historic? They're second empire garbage that was built over real history already. Most of these lamenters have little grasp of French history and are just projecting their own racial experiences
