RIP Renato Casaro, an Italian artist known for his film posters. He passed away yesterday at the age of 89. 🕊️
Renato Casaro left an indelible mark on the world of cinema through his hand-painted posters, working on iconic films like Conan the Barbarian, A Fistful of Dollars, Red Sonja, Octopussy and Rambo: First Blood Part II. 🎬✨
Born in Treviso in 1935, Casaro started designing posters from a young age and eventually became one of Italy’s most influential illustrators, earning awards like the Ciak d’oro. 🎨🇮🇹
Interesting fact: after largely retiring from poster design in the late 1990s (as digital methods took over), he was invited by Quentin Tarantino to create vintage style illustrated posters for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 📽️🌟
