People act like "we never told people not to have kids"
But, yes, you did, by treating it as the "mistake", the "thing that comes later", never talking about it or encouraging it, not making it sound like a blessing to be sought after.
They got the message: "don't have kids"
Bleak.
If you don't raise your children to aspire to be parents, they won't
It's a mistaken assumption to assume they'll come around to it.
The future belongs to those who believe in their bloodline
@GreeneMan6 There's a reason women's consumption of romantic voyeurism is compared to men's consumption of graphic [euphemism] media and not to watching war documentaries
@GreeneMan6 Ehhh split the difference. The way/reason/effect of how men and women consume media is different. I don't think it's fair to conclude that men must like horrific things they watch just because women consume a certain thing, but also not fair to conclude women would copy it.
@courtneyknill I wouldn't merge, either. But that's why I think the issue is the 7 years part, not the quick pregnancy part.
Ironically, more-traditional couples tend to delay pregnancy for this exact reason. They're merging & enjoying their togetherness a bit first, & they hadn't merged yet
It's certainly a signal, but the mistake ppl make is assuming it's assuming the same thing, always, in the same amount.
Even in the QT, it's "quirky or wacky" tattoos, not just tattoos generally. We can also do this with clothes, cars, houses, hair, language, hobbies, etc etc
Has it ever occurred to men who hate tattoos that women like me get them *because* we want to signal to people who aren't them?
I score 100/100 on openness to experience in the big 5. My tattoo expresses that.
I do not want to date a guy who runs to a fainting couch when he sees harmless body art. You're likely conventional; I am not.
And thats why it's absurd to claim women are "ruining" themselves with tattoos. You wouldn't like me without a tattoo either 😂
So why not visually express who I am?
@cremieuxrecueil I agree raising the salary cap would make MLS more competitive by pulling from other leagues, but the salary structure does have an (intentional) effect of ensuring 2-3 teams don't sit at the top just by churning funds by being the winners each year.
@cremieuxrecueil Not a full picture, though, bc Designated Players only count $150k each towards the cap even if they're getting paid millions each.
And they have another ~$3M (usually) to spend in TAM, which doesn't count towards budget
It's funny when non-Americans wish you a happy 4th of July.
America may not have a national culture the same way as so many other countries, but we have one that earns recognition from exactly those countries.
Wives align to the views of their husbands.
We can jab at the age gap or call her a clout-chaser or gold-digger, but she publicly stands next to her husband's interests, which is more than most Millennials (and Zoomers) are willing to do.
Karoline Leavitt married a real estate developer who is over 60 years old, and at least 32 years older than she is. He's obviously brainwashed her with his boomer perspective and values.
Also, I dislike the whole "America isn't a country" debate.
Yes it is. "America" manifests in the US. The rest do not embody "coming to America". They get their own identity (Mexican, Colombian, Brazilian). The US embodies American.
