Interesting, I didn't know 貨車🚚 (not to be confused with 火車🚄). I also remember learning 公共汽車 for bus, or just 公車 (or 巴士, iirc that's more used for long distance bus services).

Some characters are just delightful in how they tell a story. 忐忑 [tǎntè] to be nervous, apprehensive, disturbed. It's literally your heart going up and down. #mandarin #chinese #中文

Today's Chinese: 串 (chuàn) kebab (or kabob) - some food (usually meat) on a stick. A character that looks exactly like what it is 🍢🍡

Usually the opposite of 淡 dàn (insipid) is 濃 nóng (dense, thick) , but 澀 sè "grating" describes the bitter/astringent taste of strong tea

How to sound like a tea expert in #mandarin: too weak? Remark that it's a bit 淡 dàn. Too strong? Say it's 澀 sè.

音 yīn is a sound component in 意, but it's nice to imagine it's a bit semantic as well
