Jason Kenney and Tyler Shandro were up on the roof preaching about how Jason thinks it's immoral NOT to hand Alberta taxpayer dollars over to big corporations so they can kill public health care. Interesting sermon, preacher man. Tell us more. #ableg
@SteveBuick2 You mean imposing, right? 'Cuz as a rural primary care leader, I certainly wasn't consulted in this. Unless your first bullet point is "Initiate negotiations with AMA", you won't get much attention from the rural physicians. We want solutions good for all docs, not just rural!
@roger4LivMac And yet they are insisting on heading down this same path again. Whatever "rural solution" is about to be proposed, it has been done without any direct input from those affected. I implore you. Let us help you be successful. Involve us in the solution.
@roger4LivMac Roger, I respectfully disagree. No physicians left or withdrew services over the last 4 years. In fact, that hasn't happened in over 20 years - never in my career. Look at the evidence Roger! Rural docs are quitting due to the unilateral impositions of policies of your party.
Released to the public for the FIRST TIME: Alberta Medical Association (AMA) health economics paper on “Economic Realities of Physician Compensation”. This is the FULL analysis of the Facts countering Shandro’s Myths. #ableg https://t.co/cZEMZB9XNF
@susanjeanreid @mgb_1983@BAyotte6@ABFamDocs I love obstetrics and will continue. The amount I get from all my deliveries in a year won't cover my Liability insurance though...
So it has started. I have the misfortune of being the first doc on call after the government cut us by 20% last night. So today, I am no longer seeing non-urgent patients in our ER. Any patients that are inconvenienced by this, I apologize. Take it up with your government.
The billing changes that come into effect in Alberta today will have a disproportionate impact on rural physicians and rural patients. The ability to work as a full scope generalist is desirable to rural physicians and needed by rural patients.

@MattWolfAB Why did you cut rural emergency medicine care by 47% as COVID approaches? Who in their right mind is going to come to my rural ER to provide locum coverage for rural Albertans now?
@shandro@CPSA_CA The irony is rich here!!! I also want to draw your attention to expectations of politicians honoring negotiated contracts!!! @jkenney@shandro
@shandro@jkenney@AHS_media This comes on the backs of primary care. No new money so it's a shell game. Take from Family Physicians and invest in surgical expansion. Completely contrary to all evidence about reducing costs to healthcare systems.
@shandro Over 300 people, standing room only, and live Facebook feed at Pincher Creek town hall tonight got a true interpretation of what a flat budget means to small businesses. Check out our video Shandro. This crowd ain't happy.
