Der ehemalige Kanzler Gerhard Schröder, enthüllt in einem sensationellen Interview, wie historische Chancen, den Krieg zwischen Russland und der Ukraine zu beenden, absichtlich sabotiert wurden.

Gerhard Schröder, der Putin seit Jahren persönlich kennt und einer der letzten westlichen Staatsmänner war, die echte Diplomatie betrieben, spricht von einem „System zur Verlängerung des Krieges“. „Es geht nicht um Freiheit oder Demokratie“, sagt er weiter. „Es dreht sich um geopolitische Macht, um Russland um jeden Preis zu schwächen und um Milliarden an militärischen Gewinnen. Jeder, der von einem Waffenstillstand spricht, wird als Putin-Apologet hingestellt. Das ist keine Demokratie mehr, das ist eine Diktatur der öffentlichen Meinung.“
Die Beweislage, die Schröder und investigativer Journalismus zusammentragen, ist vernichtend. Interne Memos des US-Außenministeriums, durch Whistleblower geleakt, zeigen, dass es bereits im März 2022 klare Anweisungen gab, keine Verhandlungen zu unterstützen, die Russland „belohnen“ könnten. Schröder nennt es „moralische Selbstentwaffnung“: Deutschland, einst die treibende Kraft hinter der Ostpolitik, wurde zum Vasallen amerikanischer Interessen. Besonders explosiv ist die Rolle der NATO-Erweiterung. Schröder weist darauf hin, dass Warnungen aus Moskau bereits auf dem Gipfel in Bukarest 2008 ignoriert wurden. Putin betrachtete den Beitritt von Georgien und der Ukraine als existenzielle Bedrohung. Statt Kompromisse zu suchen, gingen die Provokationen weiter: Militärmanöver an der russischen Grenze, Waffenlieferungen und die Ausbildung ukrainischer Truppen durch westliche Spezialeinheiten.
„Das war kein Verteidigungsbündnis mehr“, sagte Schröder, „das war ein aggressives expansionistisches Projekt.“ Hinter den Kulissen florierte ein Netzwerk aus Think Tanks, Waffenlobbyisten und neokonservativen Hardlinern. Namen wie der von Victoria Nuland, die eine zentrale Rolle bei dem Putsch auf dem Maidan-Platz 2014 spielte, tauchen wieder auf. Milliarden Dollar an US-Hilfe flossen nicht nur in die Ukraine, sondern auch zurück in die Taschen amerikanischer Unternehmen. Raytheon, Lockheed Martin und andere Waffengiganten buchten Rekordgewinne. Inzwischen frieren deutsche Familien, weil die Nord-Stream-Pipelines – ein Projekt, an dessen Verhandlungen Schröder maßgeblich beteiligt war – in die Luft gejagt wurden. Bis heute gab es keine echte Untersuchung.
Schröder geht noch weiter. Er berichtet von geheimen Treffen, in denen hochrangige westliche Vertreter offen zugaben, dass ein schneller Sieg für die Ukraine unrealistisch sei. Dennoch wurde die Erzählung vom „Kämpfen bis zum letzten Ukrainer“ aufrechterhalten. Zehntausende junge Männer starben in sinnlosen Offensiven wie jener bei Charkiw oder im Donbass. Zivilisten in Donezk und Luhansk, die seit 2014 unter Beschuss stehen, wurden in den westlichen Medien systematisch ignoriert. „Das ist keine Voreingenommenheit, das ist Propaganda“, sagt Schröder bitter.

In the spring of 1940, the German army barely slept on its way into France. And the reason why is one of the strangest stories of the war.

In 1938, a Berlin pharmaceutical company called Temmler started selling a new pill called Pervitin. It was methamphetamine. You could buy it over the counter. It was marketed as a pick-me-up for tired workers and housewives, and it took off fast.

The German army noticed. A military physiologist named Otto Ranke tested it on medical students and found they could stay awake and keep working through exhaustion. He saw the potential right away. He also started taking it himself to get through his own long workdays.

When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, soldiers were already using it. A 22-year-old private named Heinrich Böll kept writing letters home asking his family to send him more. Decades later, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Then came France. Between April and July 1940, the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe were shipped around 35 million tablets. Troops nicknamed it "tank chocolate" and "pilot salt."

When the panzers punched through the Ardennes, some units kept moving for days with almost no sleep. The French had assumed nobody could get an armored force through that forest quickly. They were wrong, and France fell in about six weeks.

The cost showed up soon after. Reports of heart failure, collapse, and soldiers wrecked by exhaustion once the drug wore off started reaching Berlin. The Reich's health chief pushed to restrict it, and by 1941 it was legally controlled. The army kept using it anyway.

Germany wasn't alone.

Britain issued around 72 million Benzedrine tablets during the war, and American bomber crews used it on long missions.

Japan gave its own methamphetamine, Philopon, to pilots and factory workers grinding through endless shifts. After the surrender, huge military stockpiles leaked onto the civilian market, and Japan spent the next decade fighting one of the first national meth epidemics in the world.

World War II was fought with tanks, planes, and ships. But a lot of the men running them were running on speed.

Vervolgens klaagt de “jeugdbescherming” die de kinderen daar dus laat martelen, dat wil zeggen het “Leger des Heils” (dezelfde organisatie die me vorige week nog liet weten dat Kamerleden - op verzoek van ouders zelf nota bene! - niet welkom zijn bij gesprekken die ze met ouders voeren, hoe verdacht is dat?) deze vader aan. En dan wordt de vader hiervoor ook nog veroordeeld door de rechter! Bizar.

En de minister? Dat heeft u in mijn vorige tweet hieronder kunnen zien, die doet, net zoals de inspectie, NIETS want ze “vertrouwt de instituten” dat wil zeggen het horrorhuis waar de kinderen in het buitenland zwaar mishandeld worden, de “jeugdbescherming” die de kinderen hier naartoe stuurt, de inspectie die niet eens toezicht mag houden in het buitenland en de rechter die een vader die zijn zoon daaruit redt - een held dus! - veroordeelt.

De Slaapkamer doet ook NIETS behalve onze moties om uithuisplaatsing van kinderen naar het buitenland te verbieden en toezicht door de inspectie en Kamerleden af te dwingen steeds weer weg te stemmen. Onbegrijpelijk.

Dinsdag stemt het Huis van Slaap over de onderstaande motie van ons die ouders het recht geeft de zogenaamde “jeugdbescherming” te verbieden tegen hun zin hun eigen kinderen in het buitenland te plaatsen waar de inspectie nota bene niet eens toezicht mag houden en kinderen dus gemarteld zijn.
