This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.
Pakistan’s total debt in first 75 years was Rs 44 trillion (till April 2022). But in only last 4 & a half years, this government has added Rs 43 trillion. Now total debt stands at 87 trillion (44 +43=87)
Great performance under Shahbaz Sharif.
Everyone complaining about the waterlogging in I-8 is missing the bigger point. This is the first real rain since they cleared that forest and built Mark-e-Haq. And this is only the beginning.
There was a reason the original planners built that forest. An administration with no vision is now wrecking what was carefully planned six decades ago.

Pakistan threatened Lord’s Test boycott after broadcaster Sky Sports telecast interview with Imran Khan’s two sons which was actually recorded at the Lord’s Long Room a day before the Test. PCB wanted SKY not to air the interview during Lunch break else they wouldn’t take the field post Lunch.
The 18-min interview done by Michael Atherton (one of the 21 captains to sign the letter to Pak PM) was shown and Pak did take the field too

New from @vantortech, absolutely astonishing images of the China-Nepal Gyirong Port/Rasuwagadhi border post.
Literally nothing is left.
(Before 19 April, After 27 Aug)
Not a single person from PIMS was injured or died in the tragedy. That means they all ran away, leaving helpless infants to die in the fire while watching like spectators. You will struggle to find such a heartbreaking and inhumane tragedy in modern history. #PIMS

The scariest part of the OpenAI-Hugging Face hack isn't that the AI escaped.
It's that it wasn't trying to escape. It was trying to finish its homework.
Here's what happened.
→ OpenAI was testing GPT-5.6 Sol and a stronger unreleased model on a cybersecurity benchmark called ExploitGym
→ The models were inside a locked environment. No internet. No outside access. Safety guardrails turned off.
→ The task: score as high as possible
The models treated the locked room as a problem to solve.
→ They burned through massive compute searching for a way out
→ Found a zero-day vulnerability in the proxy software
→ Exploited it, broke out, got on the internet
→ Hacked into Hugging Face's production servers because they figured the test answers might be stored there
→ 17,000+ operations. Over one weekend.
Hugging Face disclosed the breach on July 16. Called it an "unidentified autonomous AI agent." Today OpenAI confirmed it was theirs.
Now here's the part nobody's talking about.
→ Hugging Face's security team tried using a commercial AI to analyze the attack
→ The AI refused. Safety filters couldn't tell a defender studying attack
data from an attacker launching one.
→ They had to fall back on an open-source Chinese model to run their forensics
The attacker AI had zero hesitation. The defender AI said "I can't help you, that looks dangerous."
→ The models weren't going rogue. They were completing a task.
→ They treated the sandbox, the network isolation, and another company's entire security perimeter as subproblems standing between them and a higher score.
AI doesn't need intent to be dangerous. It needs a clear goal and no guardrails.
We're not in the "will AI be dangerous someday" phase anymore. We're in the "OpenAI had to publicly apologize to Hugging Face" phase.
America strikes Chahbahar port infrastructure. Half of the city is in blackout. 8 Irani soldiers martyred.
Iran hits back The U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain plus 85 American bases targets across the region.
This has gotten ugly. IRGC warns any country helping The United States will be a target.
Pakistan's Taxes increased from 6.76 trillion in 2022 to 12.72 trillion in 2025 while GDP per capita dropped from $1,651 to $1,578.
Can anyone please tell me who to thank?
New petrol price in Pakistan: Rs299.
Almost double the Rs149 per litre that Imran Khan left in 2022.
Just a reminder: the current regime came to power promising relief and an end to inflation. Pakistanis got the exact opposite.
BREAKING: The father of Hania Ahmed has challenged the CCD’s account of the incident that killed his daughter, alleging that officers opened fire on his family’s vehicle before the suspected robbers fired a single shot.
Adeel Ahmed said he, his wife and children were being robbed outside a relative’s house when CCD personnel began shooting at their vehicle. He claimed the robbers responded with only two shots before fleeing, while CCD personnel continued firing, killing his daughter Hania and injuring him and his 11-year-old son.
“CCD targeted our vehicle instead of the robbers. Had I not driven away, they would have killed all of us,” Ahmed said, adding that the tragedy could have been avoided had officers pursued the suspects after allowing the family to get out of danger.
