We are witnessing a very sad moment in American history.
The President of the United States is aligning himself with the dictator of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to undermine the independence of Ukraine and its democracy.
Here are my thoughts:
Tdy is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. I raise my hands to everyone doing the work to fulfill and uphold human rights of #PWD. The @NDP are with you in that work.

Hospital worker to me, a disabled person: “Do you have a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order?”
Me: “No.”
Hospital: “Do you want one?
Me: “No.”
Hospital: “Are you sure?”
Me: “Very sure.”
Hospital: “You can always change your mind.”
Would a nondisabled person be treated this way?

Every human is inherently valuable, and no human is more or less valuable than another. No one is more or less worthy of protection, of respect, or of freedom from discrimination and harm.
STOP THIS NOW.

Wonderful graphic reflection of my recent #Ableism workshop by @JillBanting. Impossible to capture everything, but she got a lot in! #FirstPage
I'm grateful for everyone who came.
Dis/abled? Lose the slash.
Dis-abled? Lose the dash.
DisAbled? Lose the capital “A.”
There’s nothing wrong with “Disabled.”
Say the word.
Use the word.
Lose the euphemisms.

Canada aspires to be a leader in the eradication of poverty. Well here is the govt. chance to do just that. They must meet the moment….legislate adequacy in #cdb#disabilitytwitter
Medical receptionist: “Have you signed a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) Order?
Me: “No.”
Receptionist: “Why?”
Me: “I don’t want one.”
Asking why someone doesn’t have a do not resuscitate order is coercive and ableist.
