One of the old Gupta properties in Saxonwold is getting knocked down.
The erf is 3,687m2. The house being demolished is 256m2.
A demolition notice for 3 Saxonwold Drive went up a few weeks ago, and because the suburb has been around since 1925, many of its homes are protected under heritage law. Whoever wants to tear the place down must first give the public a chance to object. The deadline for that is 17 July.
If your home is older than 60 years, it falls under the National Heritage Resources Act, which means you have to follow a process before demolition
The demolition notice was filed by Confident Concept - the same Gupta-linked company that owned these properties right up until last year, when a court-ordered business rescue process forced them out.
Here's the timeline:
• Confident Concept racked up over R726,000 in unpaid rates and taxes to the City of Joburg, while also going through broader business rescue proceedings
• After years of legal back-and-forth, the Supreme Court of Appeal cleared the way for the properties to be auctioned
• 24 July 2025 - three Saxonwold properties went under the hammer. Their combined municipal value sat at around R64 million
• Only one sold on the day - 3 Saxonwold Drive, the smallest of the three. It had a municipal value of R5.5 million and went for R3.3 million - a 40% discount
• 5 and 7 Saxonwold Drive didn't attract successful bids on the day and were sold privately afterwards
• By August, all three had changed hands for a combined total of around R34.5 million
The properties were back on the market pretty quickly. 3 Saxonwold Drive is currently listed as under offer at R4 million.
According to the development notice, the existing house and outbuildings are being demolished to make way for a brand-new house, a cottage, and staff accommodation.

Do you know why we have a water crisis?
It is for the same reason that we had an electricity crisis.
These crooks are launching the National Water Resources Infrastructure Agency (NWRIA), which will facilitate the privatisation of the water infrastructure development.
In the same way they smuggled IPPs into electricity generation by collapsing Eskom, they want to do the same with water.
Water infrastructure has been allowed to collapse over the year in order that their private sector friends can come in to build, operate and control new water infrastructure. We will have independent water producers.
We are going to be presented with private sector vultures as the solution to our self-created water crisis.
These criminals did the same with rail as well. Transnet was collapsed in order that their private sector friends can become rail operators. Over 20,000km of Transnet rail network has been handed over to the private sector.
We are led by criminals and what they are doing is treasonous and pose a national security risk. Our key resources and assets must never be in the hands of the private sector. Soon enough they will be in the hands of our foreign enemies.
@awkwardgoogle This happened in South Africa, the driver was an operator in the South African police service's special task force. One of the best SWAT teams in the world

White South Africans like talking kak that Black people can’t run government and accuse us of running the country down.
They forget that they couldn’t run government, which served only 15% of the population (i.e. 4,5 million whites).
Their corrupt apartheid government by 1985 was bankrupt and had defaulted on loans. They had no money to pay their debts.
Inflation rose to 15%, foreign investors fled and the JSE was closed for a week.
More whites also fled after the collapse of apartheid.
The ANC will all its faults and corruption, have not bankrupted government while trying to take care of the 60 million of us.
History has no blank pages.
