@reptracker Not going to be easy Championship level with newly promoted team. Troy Parrot made a loan move to Milwall and then Ipswich at that age and scored 2 goals in 29 games.
@reptracker Not fair comment.I was at the game last night and thought Rovers were excellent, played some great football and Brennan should have scored the 1st half header and Burke great chance 2nd half, unlucky. the club record transfer fee of €75k says it all, LOI don’t have the resources
@reptracker Himself and Colm Whelan were top lads at UCD, both unlucky with knees injuries but have the class, fair play to him enjoying life in Italian football, best of luck and great to see Colm doing well at Bohs
@reptracker I wouldn’t be hard on the player, not yet 22 and playing today in the premier league, not many Irish lads doing that, hopefully a good salary and match day bonus, and champions league this season to boot , go on my son I say!
@reptracker Darragh Burns from Shamrock Rovers to Grimsby and got 20mins off the bench in English 4th tier , you have to wonder, lads want to try their luck fair enough but very competitive over there, more money too I suppose, interesting dilemma, stick or twist, good luck
@reptracker Unlucky but at least they make the final and hopefully Freddie will become the 2nd Leicester Celtic (Rathfarnham, Dublin) player to play Celtic in Scottish Cup Final after Z Delaney in 2023 for Inverness
@reptracker I can see maybe bringing a lad in for friendlies or the start of a campaign and proving themself but not at this stage, I think it’s unfair on lads that have been there all the way thru the campaign and came up thru underage squads for years, if just doesn’t seem right
@reptracker Farrugia was 25 but was doing very well for Rovers. Other LOI lads have struggled cross channel at lower leagues , Burke, Grant, Towell, Burns, Curtis, Mandriou and younger lads you never hear of again, guess they want to give it a go and fair play, tough to make it
@reptracker Another follower made the point about Adam Brennan also potentially moving to Barnsley, that Farrugia and Cotter (both good established LOI players) didn’t do great at Barnsley. Are younger lads maybe better to play a year or so at top LOI teams to get senior and European games?
@reptracker Fair play to him making a move , he’ll get to play league football at around £2k a week, he’s still only 20yr and with hard work can develop. Loads of examples of lads dropping down to step back up, look at Conor Hourihane. Played and scored in all 4 division. Best of luck I say
@reptracker Good for Evan and Liam but the real headline story is Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne from the Leagie of Ireland playing in the qualified stages
@reptracker A GREAT! Fantastic career probably before most followers now but older followers will remember him , Man U before 500 Leeds games, WBA and Ireland player manager and Rovers at genmalure at the finish . LEG! ❤️
