Carl Weathers will always be a legend. An extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person. We couldn’t have made Predator without him. And we certainly wouldn’t have had such a wonderful time making it.
BREAKING: Connecticut's superstar Democratic Governor Ned Lamont announces that his state will cancel a staggering $650 million in medical debt for 250,000 residents this year.
This incredible decision will make Connecticut the first state to provide this kind of debt relief — and hopefully set an example for other states.
Lamont stated that this move will free citizens from "the cloud" hanging over their heads and perhaps give them the financial freedom to finally buy a house, start a business, or better their education.
"It’s a debt that you had no control over," said Lamont. "It’s not like you overspent. You get hit by a health care calamity."
Residents with medical debt amounting to 5% or more of their income or whose household income is up to 400% of the federal poverty line are eligible.
The best part? Eligible residents do not need to apply for the debt relief, they'll receive letters in the mail informing them the debt has been eliminated.
Not surprisingly, MAGA Republicans are enraged by this new measure because they hate all forms of debt relief — just like they viciously fought Biden's efforts to forgive student debt.
Do you support this measure?

@thereidout@JoyAnnReid@4TiffanyJustice This was a terrible interview. Why even bring on someone to interview if all you do is interrupt and not let them speak or answer questions. No way I would let children read such a book. Joy go in front of Black church and read it out loud, see what happens

I wrote this book 45 yrs ago. It’s still relevant. It describes how the Zionist mov’t dehumanized Palestinians in order to dispossess them. It continues.

Two quotes from a NY Times piece headlined “UN Resolution does little for Gaza w/out truce.” Two points:
- because US won’t agree to ceasefire, aid can’t get through;
- w/ ongoing Israeli airstrikes Palestinians find “no place is safe, no where to go.”
In the story of the birth of Jesus, it’s noted that his parents had no place to stay after the long journey to Bethlehem.
Think of the 30,000 pregnant Palestinian women in Gaza tonight w/ no place to rest. Think of how tired they must be, & their fear, discomfort, & even despair
A Black woman in Mississippi reported her son missing and went 7 months with police telling her they couldn’t find him.
She sent them photos, begged for updates, and implored them to put his story on the news.
It turns out they knew where he was all along. An hour after he left his house he was struck and killed on the highway by an off duty police officer.
They hid his body in the morgue for months without ever notifying his family despite there being a prescription bottle with his name on it found at the scene.
Then they buried him in a pauper’s field with nothing but a number identifying him as corpse # “672”.
