The Phillies in general and Nola (and Dombrowski) in particular are grandly illustrative of the Sunk Cost Fallacy. I feel the same about the tickets I have for next weekend; it’s unlikely to be pretty or entertaining but the money’s been spent, so…
@andyjuett@DenverChannel@Xfinity You’re trapped by the Scripps-Xfinity dispute. Scripps pulled all of its stations (including our NBC affiliate) from Xfinity over retransmission fees. If you can’t get channel 7 over the air, try the ESPN app and see if it authenticates you via Xfinity.
@CraigMish@Will_Planas@jeremytache Not quite. It requires the Ultimate tier. If you get Xfinity but don’t subscribe to the top and most expensive tier, you don’t get the games. ($30/mo extra with Regional Sports Fee for me in PBC; cheaper to get $99/yr streaming version)
Just got off phone with Comcast/Xfinity- over $30/mo to add tier w/Marlins & Rays games to my cable service. I can get Marlins thru https://t.co/smAx4FHGcK for $99/season. Or save $ and stick with free https://t.co/smAx4FHGcK. All I watch are Phillies games anyway. Nope, Comcast.
Plenty of seats available. Cold Monday night, so understandable. Mostly seniors. Quiet despite best efforts of the in-game host. Very few kids. They probably know better.
With the Phillies… okay, a bunch of minor leaguers in Phillies uniforms, plus a smattering of regulars in town to play the Nationals, it seemed appropriate to drop by. It’s cold, by Florida standards, anyway.
Just wondering WTF is going on atop Greg Bovino’s head. Bald below, weeds on top. Looks like negative image male pattern baldness. He can’t possibly look in the mirror and think, yeah, lookin’ good. Also, he’s sniffing a lot.
@Matt_Pinner Here’s WTAF 29 Philadelphia signing off in 1985 with a community bulletin board, the anthem, and the standard recitation of technical information. Most stations signed off around 1 or 2 am. https://t.co/fMl4eIm2U4
@Samhauser92 Meanwhile, you can park at the Hard Rock casino in Hollywood for ten bucks and get a free shuttle bus to and from the game. Tailgating isn’t worth a thousand bucks. Nothing on FB Marketplace is worth a grand.
Here’s my last column, a farewell review of what passes for my career. I’m done. If you’ve read my column over the last 30 or so years, thank you. I’ll go now.

The station that proved you can milk decades of success superserving very angry people. Sorry for those losing their employment, but can't say I'll miss Radio Mambi. Besides, it's unlistenable here in PBC, unless you like electrical interference.
