On day 2 of @OECI_EEIG audit, the review team visited SUH and LUH. A packed schedule of meetings, staff engagement and tours of the facilities to assess our Cancer Programme. Huge thanks to all our staff and the OECI review team who have been preparing for this week for some time

As part of @CancerUniGalway/@saoltagroup’s upcoming @OECI_EEIG visit (starting tomorrow) to assess Saolta’s suitability for @OECI_EEIG accreditation as an OECI Cancer Centre, the auditors will attend the head and neck cancer MDT this Friday.

We honestly planned this seminar a long time ago, but as it turns out, perfect timing!

@hseNCCP were delighted to visit the Adolescent Young Adult (AYA) #Cancer Team in Galway University Hospital. It is great to hear about the great work the AYA Cancer team @saoltagroup are doing. Congratulations to all.

University Hospital Galway @CancerUniGalway @saoltagroup has been selected as a pilot site for the EU CraNE project.

The goal of this arm of the project is to develop an EU standard patient pathway for #lungcancer management.

We will work closely with the @hseNCCP and the @roinnslainte, both to enhance our existing pathway, and to shape the EU standard.

I am confident we will deliver in this pilot, because UHG has an existing excellent lung cancer MDT, driven by Dr David Breen

I don’t know if David Breen has an X account, but I will do my best to talk him into it for the duration of this pilot, at least!
