@WellReadBeard Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes. First-person narrative used to its absolute best effect, forcing you to sympathise with and then loathe the MC as his intelligence grows. By the end of it, you'll resolve to be a better person. Best thing a book can make you do, really.
