@davidsenra@BenWilsonTweets Been listening to Ben for years and i feel like he’s helped make me a professional going for more as well as you senra. Praying for him but giving money as well. Thank you both for what you’ve given back. Helped me become a man.
@HankFrank@RunnerBliss Did my first marathon in a thrifted zip up and pants. Bought new shoes, new socks and used all the gels the race provided and would stock up at each station. Being broke and running it hit different back then lol my time also sucked tho
The questions you ask yourself day in day out determine your progress.
For example, if you're stuck you just have to keep asking yourself what is the bottleneck and you'll be surprised how quickly you figure it out (actually fixing it can take time though)
a golden advice my mentor gave me:
if you cannot beat them in knowledge, intelligence or capital; beat them in your ability to take risks.
BOLD FREAKINN RISKSS.
a truly intellectual person who is good will often be deemed a fool by society. That itself is the litmus test. The more intelligent you become, the more naturally good you become. Intelligence cannot exist without a good heart. Cunning isn't intelligence, it's compensation for the lack of it.
One of the biggest benefits of being a top sales performer is the freedom that comes with it.
For example, I have a midday flight coming up. I’m just going to block those hours off on my calendar.
I’m not taking PTO. I’m not asking for permission. No need to tell anyone.
I have very few check-ins around activity or whether I’m working enough.
It’s basically:
- Let’s review the deals.
- Let’s build pipeline.
- Let’s get stuff across the line.
That’s it.
There’s no parenting going on. There’s no constant checking to see how much work I’m doing.
It’s just, “We know you’re doing your job. How can we help you do it at a higher level?”
Sometimes I’ll even tell my manager, “Just call me instead. I’m going for a walk. Can we do this meeting over the phone?”
Need a haircut midday? Block the calendar and go get a haircut.
Take advantage of it while the times are good. We’re in sales for a reason.
There are plenty of nights, weekends, stressful deals, random fires, and bullshit that comes with the job...
So make sure you actually use the advantages that come with being in sales too.
Especially when you’ve earned the trust to do it.
Optimists live 11 to 15 percent longer than pessimists, and they are more likely to reach 85. A 2019 study in PNAS followed two cohorts totalling nearly 70,000 women and 1,429 men and found that the most optimistic individuals had a 50 to 70 percent greater chance of reaching exceptional longevity.
The study was led by Lewina Lee at the Boston University School of Medicine. She used data from the Nurses' Health Study and the Veterans Affairs Normative Aging Study, both long-running prospective studies, and measured optimism using validated questionnaires. After adjusting for age, demographics, chronic conditions, depression, social connections, and health behaviours, the association held. Optimism independently predicted longer life.
The mechanism is partly behavioural: optimists are more likely to exercise, eat well, sleep enough, and seek medical care. But the behavioural pathway explained only about 24 percent of the effect. The rest appears to be biological. Optimists show lower levels of inflammation, lower cortisol, and better cardiovascular responses to stress, all of which slow the processes that degrade the body over time.
The study could not prove that becoming more optimistic would make you live longer. But it showed that people who already are optimistic live measurably longer, by 11 to 15 percent, and that the gap was not explained by the fact that they take better care of themselves. Something about the way an optimistic brain processes the world appears to protect the body it sits in.
Optimism is not delusion. It is the expectation that good outcomes are possible and that effort will be rewarded. The study says that expectation has a biological signature, and the signature adds years. https://t.co/t7u0GYVPPM
The only parenting advice I find useful: You can't teach your kids anything. You just have to embody the things you want them to learn. Make a list of the traits and values you want your kids to have. Then make sure you're living by them every single day. That's really it.

▫️only a handful of things are really important
▫️devote all your time to those
▫️chasing a thousand things dilutes your effort
