Claude Code Skill that uses an SQLite DB + custom shell script to organize thousands of old bookmarks/open tabs into my Obsidian vault. Knowledge from URLs, tasks, UI inspiration, all the things.
This had been on my mind for ~20 years. That's value, to me.
Something I get a visceral negative reaction to, is when people say stuff like:
> Claude implemented this fix, I tested it, it seems to work well. Here's what Claude had to say..
It's like... dude, you're a professional "software engineer". Own & understand what you're doing.
Any time I feel afraid of striking out on my own and founding a startup, afraid of being unable to find customers... I should really remember that these are -still- a thing, and -they- have customers.
There are so many little scams out there. I used a spend-limited card from @mercury for my LLC's registered agent, and it blocked a completely unexpected $100 charge. Went to check, they wanted to charge $100 for a state form I filled out in 3 mins saying "yep, nothing's changed"
@HeatherLaraTV I would say as long as people are engaging - youโre doing your job well. Let them say whatever they want - theyโre watching the video and boosting your engagement stats, itโs a good thing!
@branmcconnell I totally get that yep. Been tinkering with a side project macOS/iOS app that can import chats from all the different places so you can back everything up and keep it (and chat with AI there too, as one usually does).
Spent today constantly corrupting SQLite DBs in WAL mode by using them on a Docker host and the container at the same time, and it took me way longer than is reasonable to realize that when the docs say you canโt do it on network drivesโฆ that includes Docker!
@branmcconnell Wait thatโs nuts. Is Twitter really making that much from ads that they have that much to give away, do you have millions of impressions, or something?
And, scary thought: If this is how much money they pay out to youโฆ just how much money are FB/Insta/etc KEEPING per user? ๐คฏ
@branmcconnell@ycombinator Yeah I believe thatโs always been YCโs stance anyway, that they fund founders, not ideas. So if itโs someone they believe in, theyโll still be there for them after they graduate, for whatever idea they have (even stuff they think of in college), which is indeed very very cool.
@branmcconnell@adamwathan I agree - the future will be us as PMs for agents. Bringing our experience and intuition to steer the AI. Iโve been doing it myself - 5+ AI terminals grinding 40 estimated hours worth of work in less than a day. Doing that efficiently is a very different job.
Got to meet and chat with @zenorocha at Laracon US! Love @resend, theyโre such a great product and company, and I was fangirling so hard itโs embarrassing
I've been working on a project that is almost exclusively AI written, and decided to bring back Rico Delgado, the CTO from my 2023 AI coworker experiment. ๐
