Ok, Time to have some fun!

I'm here sharing news and analysis about the podcasting industry, critiquing and praising it, reviewing shows and and generally providing snark towards all things podcasting.

@pocketcasts @MegaphonePods Does Pocketcasts block megaphone because of third party ad tracking.

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

A podcast I really love is hosted on @MegaphonePods, I don’t want to allow ad tracking on my iPhone, or switch from @pocketcasts (pretty sure they use a black list that megaphone is on). My options are listen on Spotify, or not at all. I’m torn.

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

@pocketcasts @MegaphonePods I’d prefer not to blast the podcaster, yet. I’ve noticed a couple of slate podcasts won’t download either. They keep stopping retrying.

I just switched from overcast and never had this problem. This only happens with Megaphone hosted shows.

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

Same here, for several weeks. I’ve gone back to @pocketcasts for the time being.

@jonnymetts hey Jonny I know you were a big @OvercastFM fan not sure if still are but it has been my fave podcast app for years. Though found it’s been very buggy, laggy, unusable currently for last few days. Trying to see if it’s just me or a wider problem

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

For weeks.

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

It’s about time to find a new podcast app. @OvercastFM isn’t updating more than a couple of times a day, and manual refreshes time out every time. It’s been like this for about 3 weeks.

I subscribe to tons of marketing newsletters.

I also want to rewrite 90% of them bc they are far too long.

Newsletters aren’t blogs.

hey? being an indie podcast doesn't mean you are immune to professionalism. wild concept, i know.

Add 4 inexpensive table mic stands & a SD card, $ you have a nice little 4 person podcast studio for less than $500, and it’s mobile if you’d like.

If you only get 2 mics & headphones, you have a great 2 person rig that can also take 2 remote guests for about $350.

Quick, what's the last podcast you listened to? 🎧

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

Would it be better if @snipd_app only had a curated list with equal representation?

I can see why they would go with the most popular, hoping for attention & (hopefully) mentions by big shows, it also helps users find snips of shows they are most likely looking for.

[podcastpundit @podpundit]

@shepodcasts @JessKupferman @TheElsieEscobar in regards to @snipd_app only featuring only men in the “popular” page - it appears to be a list of podcasts most popular on their service.

So your complaint seems more about the fact that they have a most popular page
