"It sounds like the word I have been searching for—
the crash of rage and grief."
Very honored to have this poem published in @readepilogue: https://t.co/SVIA89fSYD

"Trees look as if the wind
has bitten chunks
Out of their golden flesh, and let it dribble
Down its chin and to the ground.
They rise like hands from graves—
Half skeleton, half skin."

"It is not too late to shout out, 'No!'
To the wall-builders, to the bulldozers,
To the ones who want to harvest fear for power,
And turn our final years into a war."

In honor of the #firstdayoffall, a reminder that the #ClimateCrisis means we can no longer take the rhythm of the seasons for granted: https://t.co/4OBabcHQAT
The #wildfiresmoke has blown into #Seattle again, so I am reposting this from two years ago:
"The sun rises red
Like a portent
And all day the sky is dense
With something that’s too flat for clouds,
Too brown for mist."
https://t.co/LDXN6q6x3Q
"Vertical routes are still the strangest for they defy gravity;
hence paradise is in the sky. But defiance is in our blood—"
The last piece in @LucyWriters Flora and Fauna series is this stunner by Pramila Venkateswaran: https://t.co/e1GCJKY9d5
Reposting for #July4th:
"So, you nations of the world
Who love your developments, and your displays,
Which will you choose?
Fireworks, or fireflies?"

Missing bobolinks today:
"In them I heard the landscape open up—
The steep and narrow rockway between pine and bluff
Relax and stretch into a meadow
That gave space for the strangeness of their song...'

I am so incredibly honored to have my poem "Maiden's Tears" included in @LucyWriters's series #FaunaandFloraofForeignPlaces, curated by the visionary Usha Akella. The whole series is full of wonder and beauty, and I can't believe I get to be a part of it: https://t.co/5TsjBT6Bfj
"Gliding in fire-blue waves, you wrap the yellowing cottonwoods,
torch maples turquoise."
These are wonderful words in a wonderful series from @LucyWriters:
In her two poems, ‘Three Notes to Blue Jays’ and ‘So Much’, Zilka Joseph’s words take flight when describing the dazzling brilliance of a Blue Jay and Hummingbird in the open spaces of Michigan:

An Ode to the Dandelions
Before
I willed myself to love you—
Lawn Resistors! Champions of the Bees!
But you did not thrill me
like the other, fleeting flowers,
the early crocus, the pink-plumed cherry tree, the tulips filling up with light like silken lamps.
Only you
smiled up from greens and gardens
left untended,
nodding your yellow heads
like child-scribbled suns,
as if to tell me,
“We are here.
And we will still be here,
when the miasma lifts
and out is safe again.”
