@beisbolrulez@balkwhisperer I have heard NFHS is talking about changing their balk to a delayed dead ball. I’m all for it since the majority of organizations outside of hs use the OBR rule.
@spcohn@under2catching No contact needed. I call almost this exact same play interference probably twice a season in high school ball. End up in a discussion with the coach probably 50% of the time.
@GoldyHappens If Muncy was trying to light him up on purpose he would have lowered his shoulder and knocked him out of his shoes into deep right field. lol
This was a baseball play where both players made the wrong decision at the last second.
@RobertStock6 If there was a safety base Vargas would be heading for it due to the angle of the play. If Muncy was heading for the safety base you would have the same outcome.
The safety bag isn’t a fix all for collisions.
@DamonDawg@TheSameerMalla If it was intentional he would have lowered his shoulder and knocked Vargas out of his shoes! He put his hands out to soften the blow.
@apow1753 It’s because of your biased hate for the Dodgers that you see the play this way.
If Muncy was looking for contact he would have lowered his shoulder and knocked Vargas out of his shoes.
@balkwhisperer I’ve only seen this one other time in HS baseball, where enough players left their position or the bench to get ejected, that the game had to be forfeited. Crazy
@Mugen_AZ@notgaetti Take a look at your pictures. Muncy is actually starting to break down right there. If it was intentional he would have kept his momentum and weight forward, full speed, and would not have jumped. I’ve never seen a linebacker look like this when they are going to truck someone.
@thepmill@notgaetti You sound like a someone that actually watched the whole play develop and kept your emotions and biases out of your opinion. I like it!
@N2D3W@notgaetti Exactly!
If you watch it closely Vargas started towards the bag in foul territory and looked like he was going to take it to that side. Changed his mind last second and it left Muncy nowhere to go either. Max was beating that out either way on this one.
