AC Mahendran Joins Point One Navigation as EVP and Head of Engineering
The physical world is getting smarter and it needs a location layer to match.
Point One has established itself as the leader in centimeter-level accuracy for outdoor positioning. But the next generation of Physical AI doesn't stop at the front door. Autonomous robots, warehouse systems, and indoor navigation demand the same precision indoors and that's exactly where we're headed.
That's why we're excited to announce that AC Mahendran is joining Point One Navigation as Executive Vice President and Head of Engineering.
AC joins us most recently from Niantic / Niantic Spatial, with prior leadership roles at Unity and Qualcomm, where he led large engineering teams building state of the art geospatial capabilities. He's spent years solving the "where am I, exactly?" problem for millions of people, at global scale. Now he's bringing that expertise to help Point One define the default location layer for the next generation of AI in the physical world, indoors or out.
The gap between "here" and "there" just got a lot smaller.
Welcome to the team, AC. Let's build.
Point One will be at Geo Business. Find us at Booth G125.
📍 Excel London, UK
🗓️ June 3–4
Here's what we'll have on the floor:
RTK corrections — <35 km inter-station spacing, centimeter-level accuracy
Sensor fusion positioning engine software for dead reckoning in GNSS-denied environments.
Stop by Booth G125 and let's talk precision.

Three years ago, EPITECH - European Institute of Technology had no robocar program. This week, their students took 1st and 2nd place at the UTAC SAFER Challenge, Europe's premier autonomous mobility competition.
We've had a front-row seat on this journey.
It started in 2022 with a single intern, who spent two weeks in our San Francisco office, and a half-built inference engine. That intern went back to France with a nearly functional system, and Epitech built an entire program around it. Today, 16 campuses compete annually. The best go to Linas-Montlhéry just outside of Paris.
This year, Epitech Montpellier took first. Epitech Nancy took second.
Precision autonomy doesn't happen without people willing to do the hard, unglamorous work of getting the stack right. That's exactly what these students did.
Congratulations to the teams, to Colin Cleary and everyone at Epitech, to Clara Poillion and everyone at UTAC for building a competition worth winning, and to Nizar Ouarti at Sorbonne University.
The next generation of autonomy engineers are already building.
Point One is dedicated to advancing precise location technology and fostering academic research across Europe. This week, Lucas McKenna, Director Europe, presented our vision at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in Spain.
We are committed to building the ecosystem for precise autonomy in Spain.
Our partnership with UPM began by providing access to RTK base station licenses, enabling researchers to leverage our high-precision positioning tools. Lucas’ presentation, "Precise Location for Robots," outlined our mission to make high-precision positioning reliable, affordable, and ubiquitous.
The discussion highlighted the opportunity for UPM students to assemble a team and potentially compete in autonomous mobility challenges like UTAC.
A huge thank you to TOTEM for their introduction and continued partnership. We extend our gratitude to Alberto Brunete and Miguel Hernando at UPM for hosting, and to José Antonio Serrano at TOTEM for his collaboration.
We are excited to continue building the next generation of autonomy engineers and infrastructure in Spain and across Europe
The moment your GNSS signal drops, does your autonomous system start guessing?
Stop relying on luck in tunnels, underpasses, and urban canyons.
We’re demonstrating centimeter-level positioning resilience live, tomorrow, @ST_World. Watch the demo video below (and register for the full webinar - link in the comments) as we drive through GNSS-denied environments and maintain sub-10 cm lane-level accuracy.

We are pleased to announce that we will be attending the AOTEC 2026 conference alongside TOTEM in one of the leading events for the telecommunications sector in Spain.
We would like to thank TOTEM and José Antonio Serrano for the invitation and the opportunity to take part in the panel discussion: “Shared infrastructure for new services: success stories in IoT and high-precision geolocation”, taking place in Seville on May 28th.
During this session, we will share how centimeter-level precision geolocation is enabling new services across mobility, autonomous driving, and advanced digital applications, built on shared telecommunications infrastructure.
See you there!
@BotAutoAV recently completed the first fully-humanless commercial truckload delivery in American history, powered by Point One’s RTK.
To navigate complex highways and achieve true driverless operations, centimeter-level precision is a requirement, not a luxury.

Standard GNSS (1–5m accuracy) leaves a dangerous gap for ADAS and autonomous vehicles.
Join us on May 27 at 9AM PT for a technical deep dive with @ST_World on how we solve the localization problem.
What we’ll discuss:
- Achieving lane-level accuracy with ST Teseo 6 + Point One.
- Solving for urban canyons and GNSS-denied environments.
- A live, in-car demonstration of centimeter-level repeatability.
Don't settle for "best-in-class" ambiguity, see the real-world data.

We're densifying our network, everyday. We've installed an average of one hundred base stations a week to harden our network and make sure Physical AI has centimeter accuracy, everywhere. See where we've recently installed base stations https://t.co/RguvoH5G7z
We're at XPONENTIAL 2026, come find us in Detroit, MI!
Stop by Booth 37003 (May 12–14) to see our precision location platform in action. Here's what we'll be showcasing:
📡 RTK Corrections Network: Professionally managed, global RTK network delivering the centimeter-level GNSS corrections your platform needs to stay accurate, anywhere.
🧠 Positioning Engine Software: Sensor fusion software integrating GNSS, IMU, and other sensors to maintain precise, continuous location, even in GNSS-denied environments like urban canyons, tunnels, and under overpasses.
If you're attending, let's connect! Drop a comment, send a DM, or swing by Booth 37003. We'd love to show you what centimeter-level precision looks like in the real world.

A weeding robot that's off by an inch is just a crop-killing robot.
BOPA Precision Agriculture needed centimeter-level accuracy, across every farm, in every season. One on-site RTK base station wasn't going to cut it.
Read our case study to see how BOPA tackled their location problem. Link in the comments.
How do you make a $10 IMU perform like a $10,000 IMU?
The answer is smarter software.
Less expensive IMUs have errors: temperature drift, bias corrections, mounting angle imperfections.
The key is learning those errors in real-time and correcting them continuously.
