any lack of polish now gets equated to ai slop
all fields: software bugs, bad movie, bad video game
before the audience would make a judgement about your skills, which was tolerable because you can get better
now they make a judgement about your character (lazy/fraud/etc)
@nathanclark_ The whole Google One subscription is so absurd to me. I want to use Google Photos seperately and don't want it to make my gmail unusable. ANYWAY, I said, screw it, I am gonna build my own Photo hosting app.
@corbin_braun I don't understand why AI layoffs are happening . I still find myself checking and verifying AI code. I am able to build fast, yes but I still need to understand, learn and ensure my application doesn't go to shit.
@sama@rezoundous I feel the same. My codex tokens got used up for the week and that's why I had to switch to Claude. Or else, I feel like I trust GPT 5.5 Codex more than claude. Waiting for codex to reset so I can verify the work claude did🫣.
AI is just another abstraction of Programming. It still requires critical thinking and understanding of computer systems. But it's just an abstraction.
What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.
Some places are not just part of history.
They shape it.
I took this photo of the commemorative stone during a visit in 2013.
It has a simple, chilling inscription: “People were fired at from here.”
In our minds, we must inscribe another line:
“Those who died are remembered through our resolve.”
Jallianwala Bagh should never be forgotten because it reminds us that the only response to cruelty is courage.
In remembrance of the martyrs

just today we had an issue where someone was convinced they (their LLM) found the fix
they keep going on and on about it and opening PRs
then other people pile on complaining we're slow to fix things when the obvious solution is there
but it's all made up, it literally doesn't fix anything
the worst part is the problem is probably real and instead of working on it we're dealing with this nonsense
@ThePrimeagen Use GPT-5.4 codex, I find that it's very surgical in the code it produces and makes changes that are(for me) small and understandable. I find myself programming the Model to code rather than me actually coding😅, i am essentially doing the same job, but with agents🫠
Hey everyone! I am building a @googlephotos and @onedrive competitor. The app's name is called Orma. I am working on the sync engine and will be adding a lot of features that I think would be cool. Comment down below if you have any cool ideas you would want to see in Orma!
@bcherny@claudeai@AnthropicAI I have been noticing that claude code just dies in the middle when thinking through a solution. Anyone else having these problem? I am using Sonnet 4.6.
