@stclairashley This was in the middle of the cold war and it wasn’t the CIA’s, it was the DOD’s. Best part is that no attacks ever happened and the guy who brought the plan to Kennedy was fired from chairman. It really looks like “the government wouldn’t do that”.
@boomoo17dugler @stuffcrust_ @CBag28_@SheLuvsIrene@LocalBateman Then he RETURNED it. He didn't keep the money. He gave it back. She is not entitled to make a profit because she was a victim of a minor theft. The guy bought the ticket not her. What was taken had been returned. She lost nothing. She wasn't stopped from buying her own ticket.
@IsmaelSpikin@CBag28_ @stuffcrust_ @LocalBateman Yeah, I make that extra money, not you. If I have $0 dollars to my name, steal $1000 from you, and for the next 20 years I invest and grow that money and create Apple, you think I'm gonna owe you 2.25 Trillion dollars? You understand that's crazy, right?
@IsmaelSpikin@CBag28_ @stuffcrust_ @LocalBateman What do you think is more consistent:
"If you steal $10, you should return $10"
or
"If you steal $10, you should return $10, UNLESS you get more money using the money you stole, BUT NOT if you put in an arbitrarily amount and type of 'work' into getting that money"
@stuffcrust_ @CBag28_@SheLuvsIrene@LocalBateman More importantly, I never deprived you of the opportunity to buy your own lottery ticket if you wanted.
@stuffcrust_ @CBag28_@SheLuvsIrene@LocalBateman "entirely acquired using my money"
you sure? I would still have to drive to a shop, decide to buy a ticket, and ultimately choose the winning ticket. Then at the end I would use your dollar, but you were never involved in that process
@John34267516 @stuffcrust_ @LocalBateman Why should it matter what I do with the dollar? If I steal a dollar from you, win $1 Billion dollars, and then put a dollar back in your wallet all within 10 minutes, you will lose exactly $0 dollars.
