How I trained a sparse autoencoder on all of reddit to find the most pleasurable picture on the internet 🧵

To find the most pleasurable image I used the EMOTIC dataset with 23k images of people labeled with 26 different emotions. One might think this limits our emotional intelligence to faces...

By negative querying other emotions, we filter out the shared features and generalize.

Totk was not compiled with link time optimization. What this means:

Nintendo isn't using cheap tricks to squeeze performance out of the switch. Good for them!
Modding is going to be a lot easier than on other recent titles thanks to executable code that isn't spaghettified.

@Reticulatas I think it demonstrates confidence in the engineering feat that it took to push out this game. Enabling LTO on a release build, where telemetry and bug reports are so important, would be a risky tradeoff for a little performance bump.

For every point of kindness, you get a 1% increase to the effectiveness of any healing item or skill the player uses.
