That this asinine ahistorical character assassination on Churchill has 32k likes,
Paired with the thousands of racist, xenophobic abuse & death threats I get on a regular basis for my research on Churchill,
To me demonstrates that it really is a lost cause.
I hope it’s a case of me being to close to the subject matter, but I don’t know anymore.
I’m going to continue to defend Churchill’s accurate legacy, based on primary source research, but it constantly feels that in this whole culture war nonsense, we’re losing.
It’s very depressing. Now more than ever, I think it’s a lost cause. Nonetheless, I’m going to keep trying - that’s all one can do.
As a great man once said, ‘Keep Buggering On!’
Rowling sucks but the whole "Nabokov was playing 4D chess" angle is bullshit.
The dude wrote fantasy porn about fucking children in like half of his literary output.
I’m wrapping back around to feeling sorry for this human being who has clearly lost all semblance of a reality outside her warped constellation of texts and signifiers. Yes, she’s doing third-way fascism, but she genuinely doesn’t understand what she’s doing at all.
I like Kojima, but this tweet tells me almost nothing about the Season 4 of The Boys. It's a hackneyed observation, a bareboned review. 'the characters are explored further and there's more foreshadowing and there's metaphor' like OK???
I watched episode 4 of "THE BOYS" Season 4, which aired yesterday. The story reached a climax once in Season 3 and in Season 4, the characters are explored further and there’s more foreshadowing, as a fresh start is made towards the conclusion of the series (Season 5). The irony of a "bloody" hero, which in a sense is a metaphor for America and modern society today, is what sets it apart from just another hero movie.
Today’s thread is on the strangest figure of 1960s tech counterculture. A friend of McLuhan, Bateson & Glenn Gould. Someone who went from being a CIA-adjacent psychiatrist to a hippie guru to a manual worker in an iron foundry to a Maoist instructor of Chinese engineers.
