@otherhappyplace oh this completely reminds me of the "elves" of the Moonlight series. In that they have all the things that people describe Elves with... they are long and graceful, pointy ears, and hauntingly beautiful eyes.
They are also too long. Too graceful. They are full of sharp death.
@KahliefAdams I'd be really interested in you talking to @Iron_Spike about AI art and the implications outside of the gaming space, because she has *real* insight on it.
@cayden (Source: Me. I used to work for a CLEC doing DSL work, but also I've played with some open source phone software and have some familiarity with the stuff. Also worked answering phones lolsob.) ;)
Congress not only voting to impose a contract that rail road workers REJECTED but also failing to provide those workers with a SINGLE sick day is beyond infuriating and disgusting. We stand with the rail road workers and condemn Congress’ betrayal of working class people.
@LapisLunaris I mean they also seem to get in bed with some rather ruthless people, so consider me completely unsurprised if one or two of those are from "friends"
But.. you lie in the bed you make I guess.
The IRS is warning Americans that this tax season they must report payments on Venmo, PayPal & Zelle of over $600.
Meanwhile…
The Pentagon just failed its FIFTH audit in a row, as they were unable to account for 61% of their $3.5 trillion in assets. $800 billion annual budget.
@colinkalmbacher@prisonculture Not to be salty, but it feels like "crapping on unions" has been a journalistic norm for the ~3 decades I've been aware enough to pay attention to the news.
@dynamicsymmetry I've been trying to kindly send up the flare about hive for a bit. I don't want to crap on them, this kind of thing is HARD. It is just that... well.. they don't seem to display an understanding of some of the basics from a tech perspective.
Like.. VERY BASICS.
Like... I'm *REALLY* not crapping on Hive.
Software development is difficult. There's a reason I don't trust "smart devices" in general.

Both of these are just from today.
Both are nothing unusual in terms of discovering horrible vulnerabilities.
Look I'm not saying this to knock Hive, but this shit is *HARD*
The fact they didn't even understand the fact that username uniqueness is an important question?
BIG HECKING RED FLAG.
So .. I'm not surprised to see this.
