Happy Christmas! Does anyone know the significance of the wreaths on the police boxes? We recently stripped the flaking old paint from them, in preparation for repainting #policeboxproject
Hello! We’re still here and have been slowly working away on the police box 🐌. We’ve been quiet on social media but will post more updates soon and throughout the new year. Happy Christmas! #snailpace
We are super-grateful to @DiginVeg and @GreenCityCoop for generously helping to make our #ClimateFringeWeek event sustainably scrumptious!
Join us tomorrow to explore how the power of local community can take us towards Net Zero.

We are DELIGHTED to be able to share with you the amazing artist's impressions and animation of The Causey created by @robert_motyka and his team @WeeDogMedia1 This is what The Causey has the potential to become and we hugely appreciate your continued support in getting us there.
With lots of development planned around the canal, this is a good opportunity to have your voice heard. Fill in the linked survey to help inform the work of the new Fountainbridge Community Development Trust. https://t.co/fjbbpaeora #placemaking (2/2) @reunioncanal
.@fountainbridgec and @reunioncanal are planning to initiate a new community-led organisation that uses a combination of enterprise and creativity to improve the quality of life for people living, and coming to live, in Fountainbridge and the surrounding area. (1/2)
Thanks to the yellow wheelbarrow crew ⭐️ on Leamington Terrace that have been collecting #foodbank donations from residents on the street most Fridays since March. Love seeing the yellow wheelbarrow roll down the street full of donations
How can the police box enhance our street and help residents have an impact on how the neighbourhood develops. “Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created for everybody.” #guidetoplacemaking (3/3)
Just watched the hugely inspiring film ‘Citizen Jane’ celebrating the life and work of activist and urban writer, Jane Jacobs. #janejacobs#policeboxproject (1/3)
Jane celebrated active and vibrant streets with mixed uses that encouraged play. Streets aren’t just for travelling around the city, but they are themselves the city. #playcemaking (2/3)
The police box is buzzing! Found an old unoccupied wasps nest when removing the sodden fibreboard from the roof. Imagine if the police box was turned into a bug hotel promoting biodiversity #policeboxproject#biodiversityloss
Removed the sodden fibre board from the underside of the roof. Looks like the metal had been painted with bitumen paint - maybe to try and stop a leak? #soggybottom#policeboxproject
Thanks to everyone that has sent ideas in so far. You can read a bit more about the project at the @MerchistonCC blog #policeboxproject https://t.co/wwir9EJRL0
Thanks Susanna for sending this police box model in. Bringing the tropics to this dreich Edinburgh morning. Keep sending your designs in. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas people have #policeboxproject
We thought the flaking paint on the inside of the box might contain asbestos. Fortunately Clyde Environmental were able to test a sample and confirm the paint is asbestos free. It’s important to check when working on any building pre-1999 #policeboxproject#guidetoplacemaking
Thanks to @edintoollibrary for lending us their chisel sharpener. Made scraping paint this weekend at lot easier. Manually scraping paint is slow progress though. We’ve got our eyes on your cordless angle grinder once it’s repaired and available again #sharpesttoolintheshed
