@AllBlacks fans. Check out a @WeetBixNZ box tomorrow. They’re running a campaign called ‘Stat attack’. That’s literally what foster has been doing to #allblacks records #NZLvIRE
@NZRugby has some soul searching to do. The @AllBlacks have been outplayed and out coached. Beaten by a better team and humbled by their own arrogance. Save you money #AllBlacks fans, #RWC2023 won’t be worth it. Well played @IrishRugby#IREvNZ.
@Jonobb1@TheOneSlab@AllBlacks@IrishRugby “Our best forward” shows the current state of the game in NZ. Slow, dated & predictable. Ireland played fast, attacking rugby. Offloads & angles to boot. That was once #AllBlacks but the boys club system has bred mediocrity. At least we fast tracked Patrick back to help out 🙄
The rising costs of homes in New Zealand has been well publicised of late, but as a nation this problem has been festering for the past 40 years. It’s time to hit the reset button, be brave, and look at taxing land and/or capital gains on property. https://t.co/2LJejhDe7g
We’re proposing:
👉 $13,000 tax-free annual UBI to everyone aged 18-65
👉 $2,080 tax-free child annual UBI (paid to parents)
👉 Simplify tax with a 33% flat tax on all income from all sources for all entities
(Numbers being reviewed before 2023 election)
The lifting of some restrictions has divided options in NZ. Hospitality continues to suffer even though we can now hang out shoulder to shoulder if outdoors. And whilst the end is near, surely the key takeaway must have been @jacindaardern finally got a proper visual aid
Given the current ‘cost of living crisis’ perhaps NZ needs to reimagine a new future. The old red team / blue team perspectives are not helping hurting kiwis in this changed world. What if we thought different? Did different? Here’s an interesting policy from @top_nz
Tax alert: time for a fair go for all > $39,000 tax free threshold (including UBI), land value tax of ~1%, all other income taxed at 33%. Time to support those on lower incomes and tax housing fairly 🔝https://t.co/txFOWV4kkf @top_nz
The NZ mainstream media love sensationalising the worse case scenarios regarding Omicron. Yes it is a concern, but the detail sits inside factual numbers. In the interim we can limit the impact with simple rules. Vaccinate, mask, distance, hand hygiene.
As challenging as 2021 has been, I like the small moments that bring moments of joy. For example, people smelling a flower or the resulting smile when riding a scooter
The Prime Minister isn’t ruling out moving the whole country into the traffic light system early. Makes sense. It would ensure there is crayfish at the wedding. https://t.co/Biw53ysLnj
Is it time we consider building a purpose built quarantine facility? I’d imagine it would be cheaper in the long run than the ongoing funding of hotels, or a potential lock down 🤷🏽♂️ https://t.co/ur3HRavrIr #COVID19nz
@jacindaardern should not be wasting energy seeking blame for the current housing crisis. The current problem is the problem to solve. She and @nzlabour have the remit. Let’s start moving #makeithappen
