@cathyparkhong They should pick the best candidate that Maine voters will rally behind. I don't know if that means centrist or committed Left. Your observations regarding Maine voters?
@havivrettiggur Because the left is about more than the Israel-Hamas conflict. Social, cultural and economic issues separate the left and right. That a portion of the left piled into the Palestinian activist movement may be unsurprising, but it doesn't speak for the whole.
@cathyparkhong Unless one is speaking for all the genocides occurring right near and in recent years, rather than focus on one of them. Sadly, I have seen so much silence in recent years. The ethical failures are all across the board. Any thoughts on all those who didn't show up at the polls?
@cathyparkhong Notice how his attacks on "Big Tech" are couched in the language of anti-censorship and "free speech." He actually attacked "so-called myth and disinformation." This is part and parcel of his methodology. We see through all of it.
@nikkimwalls And they do not perceive the colonization argument. It is about primitive fear of existential threats. I think I have seen this all the way back to childhood.
@nikkimwalls Probably the ingrained fear of 2000 years of persecution, despite some perceived surface improvements. The Russian and Ukrainian Jews at my gym are absolutely of that mindset and will never change. It is neither incredible nor surprising.
@cathyparkhong Joรฃo Ubaldo Ribeiro: Sargento Getรบlio (Sergeant Getรบlio)
This is a really emotionally difficult short novel. It is brutal, even nauseating yet interesting, more in line with detective novelist Jim Thompson. But it is mainly one-sided: a policeman pontificating to a prisoner.
