Subject: A humble request and a firm demand to provide basic amenities for the crores of Ayyappa devotees visiting Sabarimala.

Respected Chief Minister,

I am writing this letter on behalf of crores of Ayyappa devotees across the country, especially from the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, regarding the sacred Sabarimala pilgrimage, which stands as a symbol of devotion, discipline, and unity.

With a deep desire to have the darshan of Swami Ayyappa, devotees undertake a rigorous 41-day deeksha and travel to Sabarimala from all corners of the country, transcending caste and religion. A significant number of these devotees, numbering in the lakhs, come from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana every year. They offer their heartfelt contributions to the deity, which in turn adds substantially to the temple's revenue and, by extension, to your state's income.

However, it is with immense pain that I bring to your notice that these devotees, who arrive at the holy shrine after undertaking such an arduous journey, are being met with a severe lack of basic facilities. The absence of drinking water, emergency medical services, and clean toilets for devotees waiting for hours in long queues is deeply distressing. The hardships faced by everyone, from young children to the elderly, are beyond description. It is completely unacceptable for devotees to arrive seeking a divine experience, only to return with dissatisfaction and anguish due to these administrative failures.

Therefore, as a fellow Ayyappa devotee and as the president of a political party, I not only humbly request but also firmly demand that you take immediate action.

1. Ensure Clean Drinking Water and Toilets:

Set up clean drinking water points and hygienic toilet facilities at regular intervals along the Pamba and Sannidhanam routes to cater to the heavy rush.

2. Provide Emergency Medical Care:

Immediately establish special queues and emergency medical camps for the elderly, women, and children who wait for long hours.

3. Arrange for Safe Accommodation:

Construct clean and secure shelters and resting places on a war-footing for devotees to rest and recuperate.

4. Set up Support for Telugu Devotees:

Install signboards and establish help desks in Telugu to assist the large number of pilgrims from the Telugu states.

It is not the duty of a government to test the patience of its devotees. It is our collective responsibility to facilitate their pilgrimage and respect their sentiments. I sincerely hope that you will respond to this matter with the urgency it deserves and ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage for all Ayyappa devotees.
