If you want to grow a great personal brand that businesses can tap into its presence, focus on Brand Affinity and Alignment.
Let me break it down.
Brand affinity refers to the degree of liking or emotional connection an audience has towards a brand. It's about the consumer's perception of the brand, how they relate to it and the positive feelings they associate with it.
What brand affinity helps you achieve:
1. Brand Loyalty
2. High and quality engagement
3. Increased credibility
4. Longterm relationships
Brand alignment is about the consistency and harmony between the values, image and messaging of a brand and influencer/creator. It involves selecting influencers/digital service providers whose personal brand naturally aligns with the brand's identity, target market and objectives.
What brand alignment helps you achieve:
1. Authenticity
2. Relevance to audience
3. Great brand perception
4. The consistent image that can open up to long-term engagement causes trust to be part and parcel.
5. More attraction to the right partnerships.
This is how I have been able to work with some brands over and over again. For example, @ShowmaxKenya, @DNDi, @Oxfam, @googleafrica, @synnefa_KE, just to mention a few.
You can build an online presence that's huge, but if you don't balance between growing numbers versus attracting the right businesses/people to work with & invest in your skills, you'll be wasting your time.
This is how I have managed to grow as l earn by working with brands.
Master the AIDA Model - Create Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. How:
1. Share your skills
2. Act professionally
3. Keep learning
4. Adapt to the changes
5. Build relationships with people working behind the brands
6. Be the problem solver
7. Share your success and testimonials
8. Create time for consultation
9. Work with people who help you execute better and faster
10. Value addition:- You can never go wrong with this
11. Be open to growing together. Start with the small package they can manage as grow your monies as the business grows
12. Be strategic with collaborations. Don't only focus on short-term collaborations if there's room for long-term collaboration.
13. Negotiation:- Not all brands will manage your rates. If you genuinely want to work with a brand, be open to negotiating.
14. Build a community that grows others.
15. After a collaboration/partnership with a brand, reach out to ask for the outcome to open room for more collaborations.
Above all, have a beginner's mindset. It will help you a lot.
