very curious what comes out of this... I left my job at the mayor's office in Houston in part because I was pregnant and was going to be offered 0 parental leave.
‼️This will be an important and busy day at City Hall. Mayor @SylvesterTurner and council members will consider parental leave for employees.
Also, five issues related to #OneSafeHouston. Bail bond & security camera ordinances and $21M for 3 behavioral mental health programs.‼️

This week has been a text from your mom saying: “I need to talk to you. It’s urgent.
...I’ll call you tomorrow, Thursday or possibly by the weekend. Maybe longer.”

How does a county of 5M people record more votes today than a state of 10M? People who refuse to be silenced with voter suppression, dedicated poll workers, and a $30M+ investment in voter safety and convenience. Get out and vote. We’ve still got 17 days of early vote to go.
A rant: The NYC DOE is expected to follow CDC guidelines requiring each student to have 65sq. ft. of classroom space, which means my kids will go to school 1 of every 3 weeks this fall. Adults, however, are supposed to be back to work as the economy “reopens.”
