🚫 The FAA has implemented Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR) at Houston's FIFA Fan Fest beginning today through July 19, 2026. That means NO drones over any World Cup events!
TFRs protect fans, players, and critical infrastructure from accidents and security threats. Unauthorized drone flights are a federal crime and can result in fines up to $100,000. More info at https://t.co/TBCHJ7QBb6 #FIFAWorldCup
Harris Dems have a turnout problem.
In the primary, Dems cast 335K votes compared to 180K for Repubs. But in the runoff, Democratic turnout collapsed to 112K — just 33% of primary turnout — while Republicans turned out 134K, or 74%.
That isn't a warning sign, it's a siren.
Track vote tallies for primary runoff elections across Houston and its surrounding suburbs, including the race for Harris County judge. https://t.co/z2O9Uf7oD6

It’s been fun watching all the “parliamentarians” and charter experts show up. For context: under Mayor Turner, an amendment to ride sharing followed 71 days after passage by ordinance 2016-986—no motion to reconsider, just a simple majority vote. Robert's Rules isn't hard.
Examples of grants that have been frozen:
❌Internet Crimes Against Children
❌Public Safety Radio Systems
❌Services for Human Trafficking Victims
❌Safe Schools, Safer Families
❌Reentry Support
❌Domestic Violence Victim Support
Houston can't afford to lose these programs.
Houston families depend on strong public safety. This isn’t about politics. It’s about results and we must work with the governor to get these funds back.

Illegal dumping won’t be tolerated in Houston. Joseph Anthony Vega, 30, is wanted by HPD’s Environmental Investigations Squad after being caught dumping trash bags and furniture on Swingle St.

@evan7257 1) one fair editorial in a sea of drivel (see “whit-liar”) does not negate the obvious bias
2) the mayor has sat down multiple times with chronicle reporters and ed board. If you’re asking for yet another opportunity to take pot shots and bloviate, submit a request via email.
Whitmire governs toward the middle and builds bipartisan trust.
Talarico does the same — but the Chron Ed Board treats them like opposites.
Would be laughable if it weren’t so ridiculous.
The Houston Chronicle editorial board says that Democrats should make state Rep. James Talarico their Senate candidate because he's running like he actually wants to win in Texas. https://t.co/eySb2TLQnG
This report isn't about Houstonians. Below is the definition of the area for the study.
"The Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area comprises Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller Counties in Texas."
Houston is touted as an affordable city yet the avg Houstonian is squeezed more and more each year.
It’s critical we invest in multi-modal transportation to reduce costs necessitated by car dependency. Houstonians should have the freedom to choose how they get around the city.
Today’s vote to misappropriate $30M from Houston’s Storm Water Fund is disappointing. But I want to acknowledge Council Members who stood up for integrity at City Hall.
My office will keep working to protect Houstonians and safeguard tax dollars. These fights are worth having.
