@NFL_DovKleiman@DMRussini That image is super helpful. The white line *clearly* shows that not a single DL is in the neutral zone! β¦Of course, to do that the line also has to show that Jurgens snaps the ball from under his own behind.
(The officiating isnβt the only thing getting sloppy with this play.)
@LiteralSlant But for something maybe a little more applicable to modpo, you could check out pretty much any introductory text on philosophy of language. We don't really discuss poems in those philosophical terms, but we discuss so many of the basic concepts.
@LiteralSlant One super cool read (which discusses how poetry and philosophy are not really as distinct as they may seem) is Richard Rorty's short book (taken from some of his lectures) called Philosophy as Poetry.
@Schultz_Report@isiah_pachecoRB The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was the scene in Silence of the Lambs in which Buffalo Bill films himself dancing. Someone totally needs to put this video to that eerie song (Goodbye Horses).
@CSimmsQB@MicahhParsons11 Philadelphians (including @LaneJohnson65) respect @MicahhParsons11 because we understand that his job is to compete against the @Eagles. The reason we don't respect @CSimmsQB is because he approaches his job the same way, while claiming to be an unbiased analyst.
@rgodfrey Yeah, I just think that Arizonans are much more independent than that suggests. I think many Ds and Rs actually love being able to vote for someone outside of their party. Itβs just a very different culture here.
@rgodfrey And I also suspect there are a *lot* of voters who vote for her mostly because they simply like her independence and it strongly resonates with them personally. I really think that emotional pull canβt be overstated here.
@rgodfrey Yeah, youβre probably right. Altho I suspect that even if Gallego runs there may still be a lot of Ds who vote Sinema for those pragmatic reasons - to have a rep who votes in their interest like 65% of the time rather than risking getting a rep who does only like 10% of the time.
@rgodfrey Curious what you think about Sinemaβs move. It obv insulates her from being primaried, but what about the general? Sheβll need to get, what, like 40% from Ds, Rs, and Is, allowing the remaining votes to be split? Does that depend on Rs putting up another pretty extreme candidate?
@rgodfrey That makes sense. Altho fwiw maybe Hobbs won only because Lake lost, and maybe that was bc Lake was just too beholden to an extreme ideology (making her less of a freethinking maverick). Kelly also got a little distance from the party, at least enough to retain some mav cred.
