@DavidPuder In a case of severe depression such as hers, one commits suicide out of despair. Pessimism is so high that no other solution seems possible. Probably thought she was saving the kids from the bleakest tragedy. Mood is so low that the pessimist itself is the delusion.

@DavidPuder I’m appalled by the lack of psychopathological depth in the trial. It’s obvious she was psychotic. She was SURE there was no other way to relief herself from that suffering and was SURE she was saving her kids from t same. If thats not affective psychosis I don’t know what is.

@PsychiatristCNS I find it hard to believe that nms was caused either by ect or clozapine. I’d argue the patient was bipolar 1 suffering from malignant catatonia. Continuing ect probably would’ve led to faster recovery. Fact that patient ended up well under lithium supports my claim :)

@pedromorgado Esta reportagem é sensacionalista. Sobrestima um efeito incrivelmente raro (<0,5%). Faz um péssimo serviço a quem precisa ou pode vir a precisar de tratamento. Não satisfeitos, ainda conseguem descredibilizar os médicos de medicina geral e familiar. Inaceitável.
