The past few weeks of my EM203 course, I have been looking into the problem of how the digital age impacts sedentary activity, and therefore obesity. I wanted to share the short presentation I created about the topic! https://t.co/cDc2I9USQL
@LoriShemek How would you say that our current digital age affects the amount of sedentary activity that people engage in? Would you say it has a negative effect?
@Brady_H How would you say that our current digital age affects the amount of sedentary activity that people engage in? Would you say it has a negative effect?
@GiaMMacool How would you say that our current digital age affects the amount of sedentary activity that people engage in? Would you say it has a negative effect?

This article came from google scholar, which is a useful resource as it limits the amount of screening you need to do for reliability. Specifically this site looks into the inventions that help lower sedentary activities in young people. #EM203research
Education divide - global perspectives. The difference in global perspectives of who should have access to education (ex. women) increases the divide in education across cultures. @EM203CDakins#EM203problems
Healthcare barriers - Language barriers. Increase in immigration increases language barriers, which increases difficulty of care while decreasing accuracy of care. @EM203VLad#EM203problems
Mental health barriers - lack of funding. A problem with lack of funding may be a class issue, as upper classes have more access to funding for mental health. @EM203ZoeC#EM203problems
@EM203HGraham Hey hope, I was also looking forward to the multitasking part of the lesson! It's really cool to look at these concepts on a deeper level when these are things we do or experience everyday. I hope you enjoy the rest of the content coming up as well!
@tanyaEM203 It's pretty cool to see why each student learns differently past the surface. I used to think it was just preference, so knowing it's actually based on our brains was new to me for sure.
@EM203KPatel1 I'm also really looking forward to using Canva, especially since it's a perfect example of how our learning leans so much on digital media. I'm glad you're finding the content interesting!
@EM203EBurgess It's pretty interesting learning about digital media and how it changes our learning, especially since that's all we've ever known. It's cool to learn about!
@EM203MaarifaH I found the same thing, it's interesting to know the background behind why distractions are so impactful, especially when it's something we all experience in our own learning. The hands on parts of the lessons definitely made it more engaging as well.
I have really enjoyed the first few lessons in our EM203 class, as our generation has grown up in an era of learning that is almost entirely digital. It's cool to see how our learning has been impacted being mainly digital. #EM203Robin
