When I went to braid my hair last week, the braider complained that one of her apprentices had not come to work and that she was going to call her parents. Not even 30 minutes after her complaint, the apprenticeโs older sister brought food for her, only to discover she was absent. The sister went back home to call their parents.
They all came and the girl didnโt have a phone, to even call to know her whereabouts, her mother complained bitterly, saying she didn't know what else to do with her because she was always roaming about. That was exactly why she brought her there to learn a skill and keep her busy.
Eventually, the braider told them to go home and wait. She instructed that once it hit 8:00 PM their closing time, she would definitely come home, and they should pretend the apprentice had been at the shop all day. The braider was certain the girl would lie about being there. With that plan, they all went back home.
And when you pray tonight, pray for those carrying silent battles.
The ones who smile but are breaking inside. Ask God to lift their burdens and surround them with love.
Some of the heaviest hearts are the quietest ones.
