@burgieee__ Virginia has the highest rate of Pervs in America.
My ex went to school there…at least six times in high school there was a grown man found in the girls bathroom
Safety is not a privilege—it’s a basic right. Whether born here or newly arrived, every person should be able to walk home from work without fear, ride public transit without danger, and live free from the shadow of violence.
Iryna Zarutska fled war in Ukraine seeking the promise of safety and opportunity in America. She deserved both. Instead, at just 23, she was brutally murdered on her way home from work in Charlotte.
Our first duty as a society is to protect the innocent. But when our justice system lets repeat violent offenders slip through without consequences and leaves serious mental illness untreated, it fails all of us, and it cost Iryna her life.
We owe it to her, and to everyone, to come together at every level to close the gaps in the system, strengthen law enforcement, and confront untreated mental illness before it costs more lives. This isn’t about politics, it’s about the most basic promise any society can make to its people: that they will be safe.
My prayers are with Iryna’s family and the Ukrainian community as they grieve this unimaginable loss. May her memory move us to act—together, fix the failures that took her life, and ensure no other family suffers the same tragic loss.
