Spent 2 days in an appeal hearing, battling @Rushcliffe to build 22 super-low carbon starter homes. They’re against it, despite being, err, in favour of ecohomes. Actively trying to stop us building low cost, 1st time buyer homes, despite, err, saying there’s a need for them 🤷🏻♀️
Almost a quarter of UK adults we surveyed who are looking to move house said they would favour a property with flood resilience measures installed🏠

Textbook example of developer does loads of good things - builds houses - while the public sector completely fails to do its part and create surgeries and schools etc.
So who gets the blame? https://t.co/itAvpx0fbg
Hey @michaelgove - this is a shame. We could have spent some of this for you, on 22 low cost starter homes in @Rushcliffe (price to earnings 10.5:1). But planned said no.
Money isn’t the problem really. It’s the broken planning system.

TLDR: we need to build A LOT more houses, by any sensible objective measure. But please read this, it’s brilliant 👇 (and remember only 6% of 🇬🇧 is built on - including your garden). And those extra homes needed? You’re talking 0.2% of land that’s currently a field. IE - nothing
How many new homes do we really need? 🏘️
The proposed changes to the NPPF have prompted lots of debate about their impact on meeting the government’s target of 300,000 new homes per year.
And is that even the right number in the first place?

SUN UP, SCAFFOLDING DOWN 👇 Ok, so it’s literally freezing today - but we have a warmth inside us after getting the scaffolding down in North Hykeham. Our 2 net zero carbon homes are really taking shape now! (And will save you £2,000 a year on your energy bills) 😊😊
Enjoyed filming last week with @BBCMorningLive in partnership with @positivehomes and @ilkehomes talking about all things "Modular"
I look forward to seeing the video aired Friday AM!
