@PrinceKeyz68930 😂 This is why the debate is funny.
I asked for evidence that “Chinedu” is a slur.
You responded with a prophecy about a future administration.
Brother, are we discussing linguistics or consulting an oracle?
The slur is still missing.
Your argument falls apart the moment you leave Twitter. Nigeria has over 200 million people.
The winning presidential candidate in 2023 got less than 9 million votes.
That means over 190 million Nigerians did not vote for him.
By your logic, are all of them secret supporters of another candidate? 😭. This is exactly the problem.
You people think every citizen must belong to a political cult.
Some people support Candidate A.
Some support Candidate B.
Some support Candidate C.
And some genuinely look at all of them and say, “No thanks.”
The fact that a winner emerges does not magically create support where none exists.
A winner emerging is mathematics.
Support is a choice.
You’re confusing the two.
😭 Political fanatics are fascinating.
A man says “I don’t support any of them.”
You hear: “I secretly support Candidate X.”
At this point you’re not listening to people anymore. You’re just arguing with imaginary versions of them in your head.
@PossibleBest@oku_yungx You are being economically with the truth, as long as a winner must emerge then you have to choose one person. A voter saying “none” means he has no problem with the incumbent continuing which is still fine, but he has to say it, heaven will not fail
@Tbabz__ Let’s even grant your premise.
Let’s assume he used “Chinedu” deliberately. Fine.
Now show us the slur.
Because “Chinedu” is still his name. Intentional? Maybe.
A slur? That’s a completely different claim, and nobody has proven it.
Yes, a winner will emerge, but that’s not the argument.
A winner emerging does not magically mean I support any of the candidates.
A football match will have a winner too.
That doesn’t mean I support either team.
You’re proving my point.
You hear “I support none of them” and immediately translate it into something completely different.
@iamegbuna@mc_lively_ Chinedu: “You’re a bigot.”
Tokunbo: “Interesting. Here are your own bigotry comments.”
Public: “OMG why did he call him Chinedu?!”
😭
The screenshots hit so hard that people started reviewing the greeting instead of the evidence.
That’s Hall of Fame deflection.
@Chekwube____@oku_yungx At this point you’re a vending machine with a broken brain.
Insert argument. Receive abuse.
No matter what goes in, the output is the same. 😭
GRV: “Tokunbo is a bigot.”
Tokunbo: “Dear Chinedu, here are screenshots of your own ethnic comments.”
Moral Police : “Why did he say Chinedu?!”
😭😭😭
So the screenshots are not the issue.
The accusation of bigotry is not the issue.
The evidence attached is not the issue.
The real national emergency is that a man was addressed by one of his actual names.
Elite level deflection.
The irony is that the same people calling him a bigot have spent days insisting that “Chinedu” is part of the man’s name.
So which is it?
Is Chinedu his name or a slur?
Because if using a person’s actual name is now evidence of bigotry, then the accusation has become so diluted that it means nothing.
You can dislike Tokunbo’s politics all you want, but serious allegations should be backed by something stronger than “he used a name that already belongs to the person.
@DeNiike_ “Mokan mokan l’oye nkan.”
Exactly.
Which is why some people can tell the difference between a slur and a name.
If Chinedu is a slur, then his parents owe us an explanation for putting it on his birth certificate. 😭
@Ogbeni_Mo So “Gbadebo” was perfectly fine, but “Chinedu” suddenly triggered a bigotry alert? 😭
Interesting.
A man’s real name is now offensive depending on which half of it you say.
Some of you don’t need evidence of discrimination anymore; you just need imagination.
😂 Wait, so when Tokunbo said “Dear Gbadebo”, everyone was calm.
No protests.
No think pieces.
No UN emergency session.
No cries of “bigotry” or “slur.”
But the moment he says “Dear Chinedu”, some of you start hearing tribal drums in the background. 😭
So let me ask:
If Gbadebo is not a slur, why is Chinedu suddenly a slur?
Which one of his names requires a government permit before it can be mentioned?
The funniest part is that his full name has been public for years, but apparently one half of it is now hate speech while the other half is diversity and inclusion.
This allegation is so weak it needs life support.
