Moments ago, Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was struck by a ballistic missile, according to the Saudi-led coalition.
A fire has broken out inside the terminal.
I’m soooo sick of local politicians running on federal or foreign issues that they have no jurisdiction over. Saritha is a breath of fresh air, running only on the issues pertaining to the job description at hand.
Palmer Luckey reveals Oculus repeatedly found wiretap electronics hidden inside product samples from Chinese factories, and says they would listen in and transmit voice samples over cellular radio
“Here’s another example. How many computers exist in the Japanese government, critical utilities, infrastructure and the military? Millions, at least millions of computers.
“So then the question becomes: how many of them are compromised by Chinese intelligence operations placing listening devices or false components in them? Some people would say zero, and I think they’re crazy.
“I actually have personal experience with China placing listening devices into sample products that I would receive from Chinese factories. This was at my previous company, Oculus VR. My first company was a virtual-reality company I started when I was 19 years old.
“There were multiple times when we discovered actual wiretap electronics in product samples that were given to us. They would listen to us and transmit the voice samples over a cellular radio.
“If I experienced them trying to steal our technology and our decisions even as a small company, surely they’re targeting every government, every military, and every company.”
“New Yorkers, you do not have an attorney general right now," she said. "For the last eight years, you’ve had a political hack sitting in the chair using our taxpayer money for her political purposes.”

The bike lane fad is dying.
Installing them in places where the community didn’t ask for them was always a foolish attempt to appease a fringe group of people who have broader anti-car ideology.
The bike lanes snarl traffic. They make emergency responses harder. They make snowplowing and street sweeping harder. They appeal only to a small subset of the demographic. And worst of all, they go unused in places like Toronto and Chicago that have bad weather most of the year.
Not all bike lanes are bad but at this point all the low hanging fruit in terms of practical places for them has been picked. What’s left was passed over. So the overzealous DSAs with degrowth agendas in mind need to hunt and search for new locations. And they almost always end up choosing badly. They flew too close to the sun and the sun has melted their wings.
The Yankees have been underperforming in October for a lot longer than 17 years. It goes back to 2002 against the Angels, when teams with smaller payrolls started consistently playing better baseball than us when it mattered most.
The 2009 World Series does a lot to mask what happened between 2002 and 2008. Those years still happened, and they include 2004, which, in my opinion, is the most damaging failure of any Yankees era.
The argument that analytics make October more unpredictable, where luck can outweigh process over a small sample, is fair.
But there's a difference between accepting that the playoffs are unpredictable and using that unpredictability to excuse a quarter-century of organizational shortcomings.
When you have no salary cap to limit your spending and the financial resources to put a playoff-caliber roster on the field virtually every year, you don't get to blame bad luck forever.
One World Series in 25 years isn't a case of misfortune. It's a pattern. And eventually, a pattern becomes a reflection of the process that keeps producing the same result.
Let’s face it: we’re dirt.
As someone who has been a NYer for about 20 years longer than Darializa, I’m happy to have ICE here and I’d like Darializa to go back to Florida which is where she’s from.
WATCH: Britain’s ITN has released ~4 hours of previously sealed 1989 Tiananmen footage — filmed by the team that smuggled the tapes out of China.
The material, archived for ~35 years, includes a 2-hour crackdown compilation and 90 minutes of secretly filmed raw rushes from the days after, showing military trucks on Beijing streets, crowds, and the aftermath.
The only group more insufferable than tech people is anti-tech bluesky users, who have been coming back to X in droves the last few weeks.
And they’re just discovering that the entire world got rich over the last two years while they were busy arguing with each other about politics and AI.
And they’re very, very angry.
Japanese companies are leaving China in record numbers, as a slowing Chinese economy and a diplomatic freeze force businesses to reassess their presence in the world’s second-largest economy.
The number of Japanese companies operating in China fell to a historic low, standing at 10,118 as of June. That’s down 22% from June 2024 and about 30% below the 2012 peak, Teikoku Databank data showed.

anyone who’s not a transplant knows folks park on the street do so because they can’t afford $500+/mo garages, or they live in transit deserts. They aren’t “wealthy”.
Nobody enjoys the prospect of having their windows smashed or wheels stolen at night.
Cities need families and families need cars. A family that owns a car is not automatically some kind of 1%er.
The problem with the transit bros is that they cannot fathom the circumstances of a family because they are almost always childless.
Making life harder on car drivers also makes life harder for families. Cities should be making decisions based on attracting and retaining families.
A truck loaded with roughly 800 kg of explosive material, nails and metal balls was confiscated yesterday by Lebanese security mechanisms while moving from the Baalbek area to Beirut.
The two men driving it are Hezbollah members. In interrogation they said a Hezbollah senior named Sayed Sajad asked them to bring the cargo to another senior in the organization who is staying in Dahiyeh.
Security mechanisms are now working to identify the other Hezbollah members tied to the shipment. All of this is unfolding while negotiations are underway.
