@samdavis510 ah ok I remembered wrong but was able to figure it out. so it was a 3-3 deadlock where you were one of the 3 supporting the special election, instead of appointment, but because there was no majority, the county had to make the decision to call the election
@samdavis510 genuinely trying to understand here, not trolling: the school board DID vote to do a special election for D5 instead of doing an appointment, right? is your point that it was still the county that called the election because technically that's what the county does?
Scroll through to see the NBIs, and a short rationale of reach, that a coalition of educators are being to the @NEAToday rep assembly in support of Palestinian liberation 🍉 1/12
"There are few instances of workers wielding the strike weapon to disrupt the war economy. The UC strike introduces a powerful new strategy to not just resist US support for the Israeli war but also challenge the imperialist war machine in the years ahead" https://t.co/KiZKu3yPtm
On May 25, we blocked Princeton’s disgusting and ostentatious display (the P-rade) of school pride during genocide, days before Israel would burn Palestinians alive in Rafah.
We do not honor the foot soldiers of American empire. We honor every martyr lost to the occupation.
@OliLondonTV Do a little research before you get on your soap box next time. This is not a Memorial Day parade - it is the annual @Princeton “P-rade” which is a monument simply to Princeton. Those demonstrating here are all Princeton alumni as are those parading.
President Eisgruber, there's blood on your hands.
This morning, Princeton alumni and students held up red hands and walked out of President Eisgruber's presidential address at reunions with a clear message: WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL DIVEST.
@samdavis510@OUSDNews@SupKylaOUSD I am quite aware that Burckhalter is a district school. I’m wondering what business you have entertaining Harlem Children’s Zone, an umbrella organization for several charter schools in Harlem and a model for privatizing public services
It’s no surprise that students from working-class university systems are some of the most militant, disciplined organizers in our movement. Cal State & CUNY schools are the beating heart of student organzing despite not receiving a fraction of the coverage as elite universities.
@NationalSJP This is a great question! There’s at least one example mentioned in this piece about the 68-69 ethnic studies strike at SF State in which legendary (then brand new) Raza Studies professor Roberto Rivera joined the student strikers and got arrested. https://t.co/qJVvwQH3aM
The @GreatCitySchls conference last weekend in DC was a strange mix of uplifting and depressing for Dr. Dexter Moore, Dir. Lerma and myself representing @OUSDNews—uplifting to talk w/ supts & school board trustees from major US cities on the issues facing urban schools...

@GDenevan@QueerSpawn Couple fact checks - we're not actually making 50K a year anymore first off -- we start at $62K. Paras are actually way worse than you mentioned - they start at $17. All of this aside, why are you peddling an austerity logic? No cuts, period!!
