@leaving_tech When I moved into a more architecture-focused role I was told to start with the users and work backwards.
This was counter intuitive to me as a techie but it made the process of designing systems so much easier.

Following that advice I created a team of people that had zero commercial awareness of the product they were working on, and I spent most of my time fighting fires instead of doing meaningful work.

@statsArePower Its a shame that so much of the discussion was wasted on doom and gloom and not how we as a nation adapt to the huge opportunity in front of us
@Dan4Barnet I think when your job has never been at the whim of market conditions you can sometimes become somewhat sheltered to the effects of poor economic policy.
