POST-RACE REACTION: I'm sure we'll hear more soon but in his post-race interview with NRK, Jakob Ingebrigtsen said that he started a little too hard, got too aggressive and said he ruined the race for himself. He's disappointed in himself – especially not judging the speed correctly.

Said he's disappointed but only blaming himself and his too hard first 800m.

Finished fourth in 3:28.24. First time he has missed the medals in the 1500m at a global championship since 2019.

Stephanie Francis (44) was murdered by her estranged husband over the weekend in Richmond, Rhode Island. Joseph Francis (45) was under a no contact order and out on bail for assault charges against her from a previous incident. Three children witnessed the shooting.

Joseph Francis died after his vehicle went down an embankment while he was trying to flee from authorities on Saturday morning.
