The fire investigation has concluded that the probable cause of the Ponds Fire was a power line that came loose from its insulator & contacted another line causing sparks that ignited vegetation.

Crews are responding to a fire at a residential structure in the 400 block of E. Foothills Pkwy. The fire is outside the home. More information to come.

Shortly before 12:30 pm dispatch was notified of a hiker in distress at Duncan's Ridge. After crews reached the individual and determined they were having a medical episode they provided care & transported & loaded them into Lifeline for transport to a local hospital.
PFA crews, along with UCH and Larimer County Rangers, are on scene at Reservoir Ridge for a patient reporting a snake bite. Lifeline is also responding to the scene. Lifeline responds to snake bites so they can bring antivenom directly to the scene. #PoudreFire#SnakeBite

BARN FIRE INJURES ONE HORSE & CAUSES $400,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE

At 4:01 pm on Saturday, May 2, a call was transfered to Fort Collins 911 reporting a horse stuck in a ditch in the 2400 block of Blevins St. Crews arrived on scene to find a horse with its hind legs stuck in a narrow trench.
Crews are on scene working to rescue a horse that is stuck in a ditch. Crews are prioritizing the safety and care of the horse while working to get the horse back up on solid ground. A vet is en route to the scene to ensure the horse's care. #PoudreFire#AnimalRescue
Crews are performing mop up to ensure there is no risk of the fire reigniting. The fire cause is under investigation. #PoudreFire#GrassFire#WildlandFire
PFA and Wellington crews are on scene of a grass fire off of N County Rd 19. Due to dry conditions, multiple callers, and distance to houses the fire was upgraded to a second alarm. Crews arrived on scene and engaged in a running attack on both sides of the fire.
PFA has cleared the scene of a 2-vehicle crash at Timberline & Harmony. There was one person in each vehicle. PFA extricated one patient and they were transported by ambulance. The other driver was transported by a private party. Look to @FCPolice for road closure updates.
4/28/26 3 p.m.: Due to a crash investigation, southbound traffic is closed on Timberline Rd. at Caribou Dr. A short section of northbound traffic on Timberline Rd. is single-lane, between Milestone Dr. to Harmony Dr.
Please pay careful attention to altered traffic patterns around the crash sight, slow down, and give ample clearance to resources on scene.
