It happened without warning and the few words that could be uttered to stop it weren't even thoughts.

I wrote Echo first as a fantasy comic script, then as a chapter in a series, and finally as a standalone short story in a larger universe. I’m happy to share it to a wider audience for the first time in Green Mirror. 💚 https://t.co/U5795cRrBQ
When I look in the mirror,
I can't remember what I looked like.
I don't trust the image in front of me;
there's no way that's me.
Yet, I can find no reason to mistrust the mirror.
But it's difficult to believe what I've become.

Forever was long ago,
a memory aroused by a familiar scent.
I'm flung back to the distant past,
into your loving embrace.
The warmth breathes life into me.
I pull back, eager to see if you're real once again.
And I awake, staring at the ceiling we once shared.
