The Editorial Board take on @PhilaParkandRec's plan for the former FDR golf course. While no plan is without drawbacks, it means that future South Philadelphians will have access to a variety of park spaces. There's plenty of room at FDR for everybody.

Do @RepReginaYoung, @CouncilmemberKJ, and others supporting FDR master plan on the premise of "quality athletic fields for Black and Brown youth" know that the soil for those fields consists of old sewage and farm waste? Do the kids know?

Developers, Comcast execs, and my favorite, the the VP, Joseph Manko, an"environmental lawyer", meaning the kind who helps corporations get around environmental laws and escape lawsuits.

It's clear that even in the face of tons of evidence that much is afoul with the FDR park master plan, some people are COMMITTED to buying whatever narrative the city sells. Not sure it's worth our time to engage where people have made up their minds.
