The kind of action each one of us takes at this point in our planet's history will determine if we're entering a period of unprecedented repair OR death.
Philadelphians are demanding our #RightToThrive during the city's largest redevelopment - wbu? https://t.co/1cv9IuGj8M
@IngaSaffron@Joe_in_Philly Um. The tweet says "where is your article". Which indicates that it hasn't yet been published.
And no, Joe, she has not captured both sides because nowhere has she mentioned, nor does the article mention, PP4FDR's position. And misrepresents that of STM.
Inga, having talked to members or our coalition you know this opinion does not represent our position at all. There is no mention of our primary call for a review of the community engagement data or for a new round of engagement reflecting post-COVID priorities.
@IngaSaffron Who said anything about parroting? The word used was "represent". It is a journalist's job to accurately represent the views on which they report.
Did y'all even look at the actual substance of our concerns and complaints or did you just write a rebuttal to the city's own misrepresentation of those concerns? Where's your integrity as a journalist?
The Editorial Board take on @PhilaParkandRec's plan for the former FDR golf course. While no plan is without drawbacks, it means that future South Philadelphians will have access to a variety of park spaces. There's plenty of room at FDR for everybody.

We've provided documentary evidence of how @myphillypark and @PhilaParkandRec have operated in bad faith and outright lied and somehow that gains no traction. 🤷🏽♂️
What's perhaps most unusual about what's happening at FDR is how so many people just accept the city's narrative. Are you so satisfied with all decisions made by the mayor and council that you're not even willing to critically examine this issue?
Coalition member Brian Jeans makes a heartfelt appeal to protect the meadows at FDR Park, as the only green space of its size and personal/environmental significance in South Philly.

@Joe_in_Philly@RepReginaYoung@RepFiedler Well, in general, PPR and FPC haven't been forthcoming about the plan, and in some cases outright lying, which is the point. If the STM folx or we're wrong, we'll correct as needed.
@why_yet1 @KermitO Oh no that tracks. KOL ignores the people who didn't elect her. Which means *everyone*. Maura is more responsive in general, but you have to be ready to sift the truth from the spin.
There was a lot of hand wringing over whether or not to release these emails to the public, because from the start of our organizing, we had hoped to engage with @PhilaParkandRec and @myphillypark in good faith. We honestly believed we could come to an understanding.
@Joe_in_Philly@RepReginaYoung@RepFiedler Check the date on that post my guy. Before their change yeah? Right. Also, the 8% myth is still being bandied about. Also, what WE want? You're not paying attention. WE want to make sure this plan is representative of people's needs 4 years and a pandemic later.
Do @RepReginaYoung, @CouncilmemberKJ, and others supporting FDR master plan on the premise of "quality athletic fields for Black and Brown youth" know that the soil for those fields consists of old sewage and farm waste? Do the kids know?
@kayteterry@rw_briggs@ResearchPhilly@mindyisser@seamaac And related to this point, look at the board of the @myphillypark. Developers, Comcast execs, and my favorite, the the VP, Joseph Manko, an"environmental lawyer", meaning the kind who helps corporations get around environmental laws and escape lawsuits.

@rw_briggs@kayteterry@ResearchPhilly@mindyisser@seamaac They're mostly third tier players in all of this. Individuals in the group are angling for personal advantage but they are not a bloc. They're also not worth most of the attention. See previous tweet for who real players are.
It's clear that even in the face of tons of evidence that much is afoul with the FDR park master plan, some people are COMMITTED to buying whatever narrative the city sells. Not sure it's worth our time to engage where people have made up their minds.
