I see your profile picture. Thatâs Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.
That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that no one is past saving.
You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
Do you have any idea how difficult it is to catch Ferris Bueller skipping school when you have to leave straight from the office to go play third base for the White Sox that night?
Starting this month, more than 900 deep-sea ocean sensors will be pulled out of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans off the coast of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, North Carolina and Greenland. https://t.co/jmm86WQNcY
So let me get this straight.
Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom.
Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land.
Don Jr married the daughter of Epsteinâs banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan.
Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted.
And I know: âBut what about your paintings, Hunter?â
Please.
Why am I just seeing this now? This might be the greatest MLB X account interaction. A lot of screenshots but definitely worth your time. Follow along in the thread below because this might be the best thing youâll see on here all week.
I wonder if these two are married or still together.
FYI this is the test Trump is bragging about âacingâ 4 times
Itâs a fucking embarrassment that his handlers are still letting him gloat about this like itâs some extreme act of intellect
Generation after generation, men and women put on the uniform knowing the risk â and went anyway knowing they might not come home. Knowing their families would carry that for the rest of their lives.
To the families still carrying that weight â I see you. The pain doesnât go away, but neither does the pride.
Freedom has never been guaranteed. It has to be earned, defended, and sometimes paid for in the hardest way imaginable. Today on Memorial Day, we stop, we slow down, and we remember those who did.
We honor them.
We thank them.
And we work hard to live up to what they died for. Keep the democracy they believed in worth believing in. That is the ultimate tribute for their sacrifice.
A dog failed his service dog exam, and was later seen at a train station carrying the reason why.
People at the station couldnât stop staring when the dog walked onto the train with a stuffed elephant held proudly in his mouth.
At first, everyone thought it was part of his training.
But his owner started laughing and explained the truth.
The dog had been training to become a service dog, but during one of his final tests, he kept getting distracted by an elephant plushie nearby. Instead of staying focused, he tried to steal it like it was the only thing in the room that mattered.
That was the moment he failed.
But his owner said he couldnât be mad. The dog had tried his best, and even if he wasnât meant to be a service dog, he was still loyal, gentle, and full of love.
So before they left, he bought him the elephant toy.
That night, the dog didnât pass the exam, but he still went home with the person who chose him anyway.
Remember: it was like pulling teeth to get Republicans to fund the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
But it took them no time at all to create a $1.8 billion Insurrection Slush Fund to pay off the legal fees of the January 6th rioters who beat cops.
These are sick, corrupt people.
Anyone who ever worked behind the scenes on a show with Stephen Colbert knows he is an absolutely fantastic person. One of those folks who has a knack for making everyone feel special and his presence is a gift. I was assigned to him as a wrangler on âNight of Too Many Starsâ back in â17. There was a moment where a talented young performer on the spectrum was going to play piano on stage and due to a miscue some confetti came down which distracted her and stopped the performance. This may have been dress rehearsal if memory serves. I remember a tense moment as talent & producers huddled next to stage right monitors wondering how to proceed or if the item should be cut. Astute and sensitive folks seemed frozen as to the right move. Suddenly Stephen said I got this guys and walked out onto stage, sat with her at her piano and comforted her and conveyed how much he alone wanted to see her play, âdo the song as if your just playing for a friend, never mind the distractions, I know itâs scary but Iâm right here with youâ She played wonderfully and in that moment in my eyes you saw the measure of the man, a father, a friend, a fellow performer reminding us all why we were really here and what truly matters in this life: love and humility and lifting each other up. We could all use more of that in this world right now and I have now doubt his light will continue to illuminate. Heâs also a Radiohead fan & a brilliant comic, what more could you want in this life.đ
MAGA, yall ok with this?
Trumpâs DOJ just barred the government from ever investigating Trump, his family, or any of his businesses for any of the crimes that could have been charged in this case.
So much for no one is above the law, huh?
Alligator Alcatraz is closing after one year and wasting $1B to house 1400 immigrants. That's an eye-popping $714,285 per occupant. Everything this administration does is filled with fraud and waste. https://t.co/3DoG1YTjTh
