This morning, I officially presided over the curtain raiser for the 12th Agritec Africa @Agritec_Africa -an international exhibition and conference that showcases cutting-edge agricultural technologies reshaping the sector across the continent.
The forum highlights Africa’s dynamic transition from traditional farming to smart, technology-driven agriculture. It brings to the forefront innovations such as precision farming, data-informed decision-making, advanced irrigation and water management systems, smart farming tools, and strengthened agro-processing and value chains.
It also underscores the adoption of energy-efficient technologies that reduce production costs in vital value chains like tea, driving sustainability while enhancing farmer profitability across Africa.
The International Conference will take place from 17th–19th June 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) @KICC_kenya, Nairobi, under the theme: Improving Farmers’ Income Through Technology.

Day 2 of the Inter-governmental Summit Forum; The CS MoA&LD, Hon. Sen Mutahi Kagwe emphasized on Smart agriculture as an essential for increasing food production, improving farm efficiency, and reducing environmental impact by using technology to optimize farming practices.

Today, the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, officially opened the Inter-Government Summit Forum which will take place for three days, commencing today at Enashipai Resort and Spa, Naivasha Sub-county.
The three-day engagement has brought together the County Governors, led by the Council of Governors Chairman H.E. Ahmed Abdullahi, EGH, County Government of Wajir, Principal Secretaries from different Ministries, policy makers, youth agri-prenuers the private sector,
promoting greater coordination and effectiveness of development partners and private sector support in alignment with national and county priorities.
