PPP Faculty Director Carissa Hessick is at the Law & Society Annual Meeting today, presenting data from a new research collaboration with @BerkeleyLawCLJC
Nationally, fewer than one quarter of prosecutors ever faced an opponent in either the primary or general election. Contested elections were less likely in small population jurisdictions or when an incumbent ran for reelection.
This is a decrease from previous years.
